Not so bad

Well after my bump in with Luca I sat and watched the rest of the practice not concentrating a bit.  I had some girl sitting with me.... Gemma I think her name was, she was obviously under orders to keep me entertained but I couldn't even here what she was saying. I know every now and then I would nod my head with a brief yes or no but come on my mind was working it's hardest to save me.  I'll be honest I don't think she noticed to much as she just carried on going. 

"Hey Tom are you even listening" I suddenly heard Amber say.

"Sorry was Miles away what's up?" I replied seeing her bouncing towards me. 

"We're all done so just need to get changed and then we can head to yours, go with Luca to the changing rooms and we will meet you out the front. Zac will be there as well so just go with him." Amber smiled. Now this was not good for so many reasons a) I didn't want to be with Luca b) the male changing rooms as much as in my dreams is good not sure in the flesh would be a good result

"I can just make my way towards the car park, will save having to stand around while they are all getting changed" I replied just as Luca came to join us.  I saw him smiling directly at me which kind of made something in my stomach flutter

"Just follow me. You can't get out the way we came in as they close the gate at a certain time and  the only way out is through the changing rooms" Luca said "It's not that bad I promise" he winked.

"I'll see you on the other side" Amber said while bouncing back down towards the changing rooms.  Well I would like to say I had options but unless I was going to set up camp here for the night or learn how to climb over gates I'd have to face the lions den.

"Come on then. Follow me and I can finally get changed, oh and do you have my phone?" Luca said. Nodding I slowly pulled it out my pocket preparing my lie just in case he asked.

Luckily he just took the phone and began to walk down the steps. I let out a sigh and then gathered my belongings. At least was saved from that.

"What did you save your number as? I don't see a Tom on my list" he said looking at me with a mischievous look on his face.  As if he thought I was going to have stored it under anything else and why do I never get a break.

"Oh well I didn't actually get to put my number in. I forgot your code" ok not the best excuse in the world but hey it worked for me. As I finished I notice his face drop and I'll be honest I did kind of feel bad as he looked a bit hurt. Come to think of it would It have been that bad I mean it was only numbers being swapped.

"Ok well what is it I can put it in now"  he said slowing down and pushing the screen on his phone.  Now I could lie and give him a false number but after seeing how disappointed he had been I decided I just couldn't be that kind of person.  At the end of the day he was being nice and making an effort and at the minute I could do with the friends. So I then gave him my number.  He quickly entered it In and seem to be tapping at his screen a lot.  It was then I felt my pocket vibrate.

"Dropped you a message just so you know it's me" I could see the eagerness in his eyes along with fear that I hadn't gotten the message. I pulled out my phone and opened the message.

Luca: Just so you have my number 😁

" Yeah I got it thanks. I'll store it now" I said trying to look happy about it.  Lucas face then changed. His cheeks went a slightly red and the smile that formed on his face actually made my heart go a bit.  Ok so this may all be new to me and yes those doors are staying shut but to have a bit of attention actually was quite nice. After storing his number we headed towards the changing room. 

"Just stick to me and you will be safe" Luca said as we began to walk down a corridor "it gets a bit rowdy in here after practice and you definately wouldn't want to be here after a game" he laughed
