I wake up the next day feeling pretty down. Day three at a new school and all I had to look forward to was studying. I rolled over and picked up my mobile, my alarm hadn't gone off so I maybe had time to have a couple of goes on candy crush. As I picked up the phone the first thing I noticed was that i had messages. Obviously they were either going to be from Amber or from someone back home. I opened to see Ambers name on the messages

Amber: Hi Tom you still up? X

Amber: Guess not as no reply. Just been talking to Zac and he says he doesn't want to do the musical number as he doesn't feel comfortable enough 😣 I'm totally gutted. Well hope your ok and I'm sure I'll see you at school x

Well looks like Zac hadn't told her the truth. Typical. I suppose as I have never really been into the whole being popular thing I wouldn't understand but I did find it funny that he couldn't tell her the truth. Well I'm going to stop worrying about that. I looked at my phone wondering if I should reply especially as it was pretty early when my phone glowed with a new message

Amber: I've come up with an idea...meet me at the benches at the front near where you get dropped off by the bus and I tell you my idea x

Tom: ok no worries I'll see you there.

I wasn't putting a kiss as knowing my luck it would be seen by prying eyes and to be honest I don't really know Amber that well yet to do that. All of a sudden my alarm on my phone started going off. Damn candy crush is going to have to wait. I turned it off and headed to the bathroom to get ready.

After I arrived at School I started to head over towards the benches I knew Amber meant. I could see in the distance a large crowd which I knew where the popular kids which Zac and Amber would be with. As I was getting closer I heard a scream and then from the group out bounces Amber running towards me. I swear this girl must be drinking a lot of caffeine as where does all this energy come from. As she reaches me she just about jumps on me and wraps her arms around me.

" Ok So listen I know Zac doesn't want to sing but you know I really really want to do it. Well I was thinking last night what would you say if I spoke to Miss Jones and well asked if you could sing with me?" She blurted out. It actually came as no shock that she was asking this as I'll be honest as soon as she said she had a plan and I began thinking about it this was the first thing that came to mind. Luckily as not a surprise I already knew the answer.

"Well I wouldn't mind but it's not just singing. It's drama as well you will all be acting which I have to be honest with is not one of my strong points and who would be playing the piano if I even could" I replied trying to look disappointed even though the inner me was jumping up and down with party blowers shouting 'at last you said something right'

"Already thought of that as well" Amber said beaming at me "Zac isn't bothered about the acting bit so I thought he could act and mime the words and you just sing for him" great this I wasn't expecting. Time to put the party blowers away.

"What does Zac think of this" hoping he could dig us out of his mess.

"Zac" Amber called "Come here a sec babe" I see Zac talking to one of his mates stop and look over at us. I was hoping to see the face drop and the 'I really don't want to do this face' come on. Instead I got the all smiles and happy look. Great I know this wasn't going to work out.

"What's up?" He asked walking over

"Was just telling Tom my idea and he was wondering what you thought." She smiled at him taking his hand. They are so touchy feely, I'm wondering if we do this how I'm going to feel being a third wheel all the time.

"Yeah I'm up for it mate. As long as I don't have to sing it's cool with me. I'll be honest the extra credit wouldn't go a miss" he laughed. I really need to know what this credit thing is as to me it what you need to get bank loans or finance or something.
