-"so sades, what are you gonna wear tonight?" millie spoke up again as we were driving to in and out.
"i'm still not totally sure yet. i got a new sweater though, so i'll probably wear that, but the rest .. i'll have to get back to you on that" she laughed, braiding her hair. jaeden had his arm rested on the headrest of her seat which made her smile when she noticed it.
"what about you?" she added when millie hadn't responded.
"i don't know, can you help me?" she groaned, turning around in her seat to face sadie who was laughing again.
"of course, what are friends for?"
"okay we'll have to put a pause on the girl talk, we're here" i said when i pulled into the parking lot of the restaurant.
-
i had just picked up millie and sadie, millie sat in the passenger seat and sadie in the back.
"so where is this party again?" i asked, being the first to speak up since they got in.
"jaeden's, actually" sadie said. i only nodded, deciding against questioning it and just drove to jaeden's. when we got to the house it was already pretty full, and i almost felt bad for not coming over early to help him get the house set up. if i had known he was throwing the party i would have.
sadie jumped out of the car almost immediately after the car had stopped, but i wasn't very surprised. millie waited for me to finish parking before we both got out together.
"i haven't been to a party since that night" she said. it was the first thing she's said since i picked her up. she hadn't given much detail to what she was talking about but i knew exactly what she meant.
"well you have me, nothing can go wrong" she smiled, pressing a kiss to my cheek before pulling me into the house with her.
-
it had probably been around 2 hours since we got to jaeden's, and surprisingly neither me or millie were drunk. i hadn't had anything to drink because i knew i'd be driving, and i don't think millie had any either. i think she stopped drinking when we got together, which was good.
she had stuck to my side the whole night, which i was thankful for, but she also seemed off. she used to be a big party animal, but now, she almost seemed anxious and stressed. her grip on my hand was tightening more and more by the minute and i finally came to the conclusion that maybe she wasn't comfortable.
"do you wanna just get out of here?" i asked into her ear so she could hear me over the music, and she almost immediately nodded eagerly, pulling me towards the front door and to my car without even trying to find sadie to say bye.
"sorry, just got a lot of flashbacks" she mumbled, shaking her head. i squeezed her hand reassuringly.
"you don't have to explain yourself, it's fine. i could tell you were uncomfortable" she smiled.
"so where do you wanna go?" she asked.
"the diner?" i suggested with a smirk. she laughed.
"sounds like a plan"
we had started driving and not even a minute after we left the house, millie sighed.
"shit!"
"is there a problem?" i asked.
"i forgot my phone at my house, can we stop there quickly so i can grab it? i won't even be a minute" she begged. i agreed, turning around and heading towards millie's house.
