Chapter10~Two hearts apart~

It was 8am in a Monday morning and manik just woke up early because he have to wake up nandini as it's her first day of university.

He freshened up and sat on his bed resting his head on the bed rest sipping his morning coffee. He unlocked his phone and it was nandini's picture. He smiled seeing the picture.

It was a daily routine of him to start his morning by looking at her picture. It made his morning better and gave him a satisfaction.

He called nandini but got no response. He frowned and called her again. She received the call but before he can say anything she started rambling.

"Manik I will talk to you later I'm kind off getting late!" She exclaimed in a hurry.

"But how are you up so early?" He asked confused as she's the type of girl who's partial insomnic so she never ever wake up early.

"Thanks to my roommates now can I go I have to catch the taxi." She said and his face fell.

"Yeah su--" He was cut off because without listening to him she cut the call.

He sighed dejectedly and kept his phone on the nightstand. He realised the it's not even few days and things are already changing.

His trail of thoughts was broken by a knock on the door. After giving a heads up the door got open.

"Mom you aren't suppose to knock." Manik said.

"I thought I should by the way why are you up so early?" She asked and sat besides him. He immediately kept his head on her lap.

"It was nandini's first day of university so I have to wake her up and wanted to wish her luck." He barely whispered.

"So why you are so sad about it?" She asked caressing his hair.

"Everything's changing mom it's not even a few days and I think that everything's changed." He said.

"You mean nandini's changed?" She asked.

"Mom I said everything not nandini." He whined.

"But last time I checked in your dictionary nandini and everything are synonyms." She said with a chuckle and he sat straight hearing her.

"No mom it's not the case." He defended himself.

"Manik from so many years your life has been revolving around her and you are so oblivion to that. And now when she's not around look at you." She said softly.

"Is it really true?" He asked confused.

"Ask yourself manik." She said caressing his cheeks lovingly and left from there to give him some time to think.

Manik lied down on the bed again thinking if it's really true. He saw her picture on his phone again and a smile automatically made it's way.

He shrugged it and went to get ready for office.

It was nandini's first day in college and she was excited because her dream was finally coming true. She always thought this world of fashion is amazing and you can experiment with clothes anytime.

She was wearing a sundress with her hair flowing on her waist. She entered the huge building and was really jumping here and there due to excitement.

She completed all her formalities and asked someone about her class. She was in the way when she bumped into someone.

"Oh! Shit I'm so sorry." She apologised immediately and bend down to pick up the things that fell down.

"I didn't see you I'm sorry." She said and looked up to give the books back.

"It's alright." He replied and stood up on his feet.

She looked at him and he smiled at her. She just stared at him.

"Hey" he waved his hand in front of her seeing her lost.

"Dang you are cute." She instantly said and he laughed.

"Straight forward huh?" He asked with a blushy smile.

"Extremely" she said with a smirk. "By the way I'm nandini." She said forwarding her hand.

"I'm Alec very nice to meet you nandini."  He said shaking his hand with her.

"Can I walk you to your class?" Alec asked her and she smiled.

"Sure a cute guy walking me to my class why not." She said with a teasing smile and he chuckled.
They started walking in the hall side by side.

"So are you from Mumbai only?" She asked.

"Yeah and you?"

"Delhi" she replied and he nodded. They reached the class and entered inside.

"Wait aren't you getting late for your class?" She asked raising her brows and he smirked.

"Guess what we are in the same class." He shrugged and sat down on the seat.

"Whoah! That's amazing I got a friend in my class." Nandini said and sat down.

"You mean a cute friend?" He asked teasingly and she rolled her eyes.

"Yeah yeah cute friend."

Their conversation came to an end when the lecture started. After an hour it came to an end and the class dispersed.

It was just the first day so there weren't many lectures so they decided to go back home.

"Can I drop you?" Alec asked as they were walking towards the parking.

"No thanks I will take the taxi." She said with a smile.

"You sure?" He asked and she nodded. They waved to each other and went to their ways.

Nandini reached home and opened the door with the key as Navya and cabir were at work.

She changed into pyjama shorts and tank top. She sat on the bed and immediately called manik. He picked up the call on the second ring.

"Guess what!" She asked excitedly.

"You day was chocolate licking from finger awesome?" He asked.

"My day was amazing but I met a guy and he's the definition of cuteness." She said excitedly and his smile faltered.

"Oh!" He said dejectedly.

"You know he's my first friend there." She rambled more but was failed to recognise the sadness in his voice.

"Nandini I will call you later actually I'm busy right now." He said lowly.

"Who's nandini?" She asked with a bad face.

"Okay sorry sugar plum can I call you later I'm busy?" He asked with a fake smile.

"Better, bye and enjoy without me." She said making a face.

"Actually it's the other way around." He said.

"Whatever bye." She said and hung up the call.

"He doesn't even have the time to talk to me." She thought sadly.

"She's happy without me." He thought with a sad smile.
