Okay, on with the story!! (It's a SuperReignCorp btw. Aka, Kara, Sam and Lena.)

Kara's POV

Lena and I had been together for a year now. One whole year and I had still forgotten her birthday. We had been friends for years before that, I should have remembered. I only realised that I was late for our dinner while I was fighting a persistent alien. I used my heat vision to knock him out but I pushed myself too hard, making me extremely nauseated and exhausted afterwards.

"Stay down," I yelled at him. He complied, much to my surprise. I used the wall for support but could barely stand. "Alex, can you get here as soon as you can? I think I just blew out my powers."

"Sure, sis." About a minute later, J'onn arrived with Alex. She rushed to me and held me up. I wobbled a bit after she let me go but I regained balance. "Why the hurry?"

"It's Lena's birthday dinner and I totally forgot. I need to be there..." I looked at my watch, sighing when I read the time. "thirty minutes ago." I groaned, trying to think of a way to get to the restaurant considering I had just lost my ability to fly.

"You are literally a Superhero. How are you late?" I relaxed when I saw her smile. The hurry over here was tiring, to say the least. I hated losing my powers, I had to take the bus here.

"I blew out my powers in the last fight. I forgot that I had to come here otherwise I wouldn't have been out being Supergirl. I swear."

"Well, are you okay?"

"Of course I am. I am also very sorry, Lena. How long have you been waiting?"

"To be honest, I was late too. I've only been here for ten minutes." We both laughed and looked at our menus. I asked Lena what she wanted and then went up to order.

"Can I please have..." I was cut off by a familiar voice behind me.

"Kara?" I spun around to see an old friend.

"Sam? I haven't seen you in ages! Where have you been? How have you been?"

"I've been travelling the world. Ruby is having so much fun. Didn't you get my text from before I left?"

"No, I never got any texts. You were just gone one morning when Lena went to see you at the office. We didn't want to assume anything but we were worried." I turned around and ordered the food before continuing my chat with Sam.

"We? I heard that you and Lena are an item now. Congratulations."

"It's her birthday, I brought her out for dinner. You should join us!"

"I shouldn't. Isn't it rude to interrupt a date?"

"It's not a date, just a dinner. Please, sit with us." She nodded so I took her back to our table. Lena's eyes lit up when she saw who I had brought with me. Lena immediately stood and ran at Sam, almost knocking her to the ground.

"If this is my birthday present, Kara, I'm impressed." She said as she pulled away from the hug. I smiled and shook my head.

"Actually your present is at home. This is as much a surprise for me as it was for you." I laughed. We all sat down and enjoyed the dinner. The three of us together again, until Lena said she had to go work something out at Catco so she left Sam and I at the table.

I opened my apartment door, letting the stunning woman in before me and continued kissing her as I closed the door behind me. I kept my lips on hers as we stumbled to the bedroom. I shoved her onto the bed and took my shirt off. She followed suit and smiled, still laying on my bed.

"This is only allowed to happen once," I said sternly.

"Just one night. Got it." She agreed and sat up, grabbing me by the back of the neck and kissing me over and over again. The kisses were slowly making their way down my neck.

Sam and I shared a marvellous night together, not thinking of the consequences that might occur in the morning when my girlfriend got home.

I took in a deep breath and opened my eyes. I knew I would have to get Sam out of my bed before Lena arrived but she looked so peaceful that I lost track of time and was only pulled out of my daydreaming by the sound of my apartment door opening.

"Sam!" I shout-whispered and tried to shake her awake. It worked on the third try and she stood quickly, knowing exactly why I was having my small panic attack. She was struggling to get her pants on as Lena's footsteps got progressively louder.

"Kara? Who are you talking to?" Lena said and walked in. Sam was hiding in the bathroom, she had only just gotten there in time.

"She was talking to me." Sam walked out fully clothed and smiled. She walked past Lena, leaving a strange look on the CEO's face.

"What was she doing in the bathroom?"

"She stayed over. We both had a bit to drink so I told her she could sleep on the couch so she didn't have to drive home. She was getting changed while you got home."

"Okay." Lena walked back out to the main part of my loft. I sighed with relief, knowing that Lena didn't suspect anything. I heard the two women talking so I put a gown on and walked out to greet them.

"Hey, you," Sam said, giving me a look that I only recognised from last night. I giggled and walked over to Lena. Making sure to kiss her on the lips to seal the fact that last night was a once only thing.

"Wow there," Lena said, pulling away a bit. I grabbed her hand and held it while the three of us continued talking. During the whole conversation, I kept giving Sam glares that she returned.

Like I said, it happened once. Just. One. Night.
