Lena's POV

I had called Alex and Kara but neither of them answered. After a few attempts, Sam answered but she didn't seem to believe me.

"You have to be joking."

"Seriously. I was talking to Kara and then poof, I was in a spaceship." Silence. "The Daxamite that's been reigning down terror lately was there and she told me I'm her daughter. I don't understand how..." She didn't actually reply for ages. I thought the line had gone dead until she took a deep breath and spoke.

"First of all, how many hours have you slept lately? Second of all, how long has it been since you had human contact? Third of all, are you sure it wasn't all just a dream?" She rambled.

"I have been sleeping fine. I get enough interaction with people, thank you. And I don't think it was a dream. Unless the whole day was a dream but I don't think so." I sighed for probably the fourth time today. "Could you meet me here?"

"Sure."

Kara's POV

I coughed up some blood, turning my head to watch Mon-El screaming my name as Rhea just kept stabbing me with the Kryptonite knife. I had forgotten that she had it and I came into the room with my confidence unwavering all because I forgot about the Kryptonite.

Overall, she stabbed me seven times by the time Mon-El ran at her, knocking her to the ground. My whole body had gone numb ages ago. It was the feeling of the Kryptonite in my veins that stung like hell. Mon-El knocked Rhea out and picked me up, jumping out the window. That was the last thing I remembered.

I slowly opened my eyes, my breath shaky but thankfully still there. I looked around, Lena on one side and Alex standing beside her. Lena was staring at her phone and Alex was reading some sort of document.

"Hey," I grunted, unaware until then that talking strained my lungs, which had been punctured Rao knows how many times.

"You're awake." Lena grabbed my hand. I coughed a few times, feeling something rise to my throat. I couldn't hold it in much longer so I just let it out as Alex put a bucket beneath my mouth. Bile and blood filled the bucket a few inches deep. I looked around and saw that the bed covers near my head were red with blood.

"Great observation," I noted.

"Shut up." She playfully hit me on the arm. "How are you feeling?"

"Other than having been stabbed," I mentally counted each spot I felt pain, "seven times, I am pretty good." I smiled up at Alex and then looked back at Lena. "You look troubled."

"There's... something I have to tell you."

Lena's POV

Sam came and went from my office quickly. Then I got the call about Kara so I rushed to the DEO. Four hours after I arrived, Alex came out of a Med room with a wide smile on her face, telling me everything was okay. When Kara woke up, I didn't know what to say, or what to do. So I told her everything. But instead of Kara reacting angry or upset or even okay with me being Rhea's daughter, she just froze. Now she's laying on the bed, motionless and eyes glazed over. Alex snapped her fingers in front of her eyes but she stayed in the trance-like state.

"Kara, please say something." 48 seconds later, she looked at me with a look in her eyes that I would only describe as pure fear. I moved to the edge of my chair and looked at Alex, then back at her. "Are you okay?"

"I'm not sure. You... I think just in shock? I don't know, but I'm fine..." Kara tried to sit up but groaned and laid down again. "...I think I'm fine."

"Please just rest." I put a hand on hers and squeezed it reassuringly. "I can't lose you."

"You won't. Rhea isn't going to see our next move coming." Alex nodded and smiled, getting up to walk away but Kara grabbed her hand to help her sit up.

"Kara!" Alex practically yelled while Kara winced as she sat up straight. "Lie down!" Alex ordered but Kara just pulled the sheets off her she swung her legs over the side.

"Look, I'm fine." She put her hands out to help her balance while she stood slowly. I put a hand around her waist to steady her and she smiled at me. "Can I go home please?" I shook my head, looking up at Alex, who nodded slightly.

"If anything happens, call me." I rolled my eyes and Alex went to walk away but instead, turned back around. "Actually, Lena, you're going home with Kara. Anything at all, I'm the first to know, okay?"

"Yep."

At Kara's apartment, she sat on the couch with a strange look on her face. I sat next to her with two glasses of wine.

"So here's my wine, you'll have to go get your own." She laughed half-heartedly and grabbed her glass when I offered it. "Are you okay?"

"It's just weird, to think that you're Rhea's daughter. I knew your father had an affair but I never imagined it to be with that... monster." Kara looked at me with a look in her eyes that I remembered from when we first became friends. "None of that, about our families, will ever stop us from being friends, right?"

"Right. Friends forever." Kara smiled and laid down on the couch. It didn't take long for her to fall asleep, so I picked her up, surprising myself at my strength. I took her to her bed and wondered whether I should maybe get her changed as she was still wearing what the doctors had put her in when they took her out of her suit. I decided against it and tucked her in, sleeping on the sheets instead of under them where I really wanted to be.

Kara's POV

I woke up suddenly, Lena had her hands on my arms and a very worried expression. I was on my bed and still wearing the hospital gown.

"What?" I sat up and she moved slightly away from me.

"You were screaming in your sleep. Speaking Kryptonese." Lena looked down. "I'm still not great at it but I recognized some of the words. You were saying 'Stop hurting me'."

"I wasn't... I mean it's like... dreams aren't..." I couldn't think of what to say. I paused and just as I was going to try and explain, I yawned rather loudly.

"Please just get some rest and we can talk about this in the morning," Lena squeezed my hand and I nodded, giving her a smile before closing my eyes and laying back. This time, I dreamt about Krypton at it's best, when everything was calm and okay.
