Rozella's POV

I looked out the window, still feeling like someone is watching the house. It always feels that way but it's worse now cause we are in werewolf territory.  I tried not to let it be known that I knew outside. I'm trying to play the innocent little human who knows nothing about the supernatural. Let me tell you if you have lived as long as I have it comes easy. You learn different things, like how to mask your identity for one.

I start high school soon for the umpteenth time. It is going to really suck pretending to be human again. Especially around all the werewolves, their senses are beyond belief. Their senses are heightened more when they are about to change.

They start the change close to their eighteenth birthday, about a week or two before. First it starts with their eyes changing. Next comes the anger, that part is really dangerous. Especially for humans to be around. Third thing that comes is a voice in their head, their wolf. This normally comes just a couple days before the change. Lastly is the change itself. Let me tell you this, it is one of the worst pains you will ever feel. Every bone in the body breaks and reshapes itself. Then you have your wolf, when the torture is over with. I have experienced it first hand through someone.

I don't hold a grudge against the one that turned me. Well not very much at least. I was in a very bad place when he found me. I probably would have ended up dead the next day if he didn't turn me like he did.

I closed the curtains and looked at all I have now, and thought about all that I have learned. In a big way I'm greatful.

Hearing tires on the gravel brought me out of my reverie. Knowing that its Jeffery, I head to the kitchen to put some water on to boil, both for tea and pasta. A second later Jeffery walked in raising and eyebrow at me.

"What?" I asked, raising an eyebrow back at him.
"You couldn't have waited two more minutes?" Laughing slightly.
"No....no I could not." I blew a raspberry at him and sat down at the island. Mockingly bowing i said, "the kitchen is all yours, your highness."

"Why, thank you peasant." Winking he got to work making food.
                        *********

"So what happened at the store?" Chewing my food slowly. I looked up at him through my lashes.

Almost choking on his food, and not looking me in the eyes he said, "aheh...heh..mmm... nothing of importance."

"I've known you how long and you think I don't know when your lying?"

Sighing he looked down at his plate and played with his food. " I think I might have found my mate today...."

"That's good news!!!! Why are you looking so glum for????"

"Because... I didn't actually get to see her...she was gone by the time I caught her scent.."

"I'm sorry hun. I'm sure you will find her, this is a small town. I bet she goes to the high school."

"Yeah for sure." Giving me a small smile."

"Come on cheer up, we are here to stay for awhile. I missed my old country let's just hope it doesn't bite me in the ass later on...." cocking my head to the side to listen better to the noise I just heard outside, I slowly put my fork down. Being as quiet as possible I whispered to him. "Let's go for a run...human bodysuit only this time and remember whatever happens, dont get yourself into trouble."

Looking at me he nodded, and got up slowly to go put some running clothes on. I hope it's not who I think it is.
But judging by the smell it's at least someone from his clan.

Pretending to act like a weak girl I called out to Jeffery from the bottom of the stairs. "Hurry up slow poke!!!! I dont want to get caught out there if it decides to rain again." I heard footsteps a second later, he appeared a minute after. " You take longer than a sloth."

"You never know who I'll run into.." winking at he he kissed his biceps.

"You do know we are in the middle of nowhere right." Laughing a little at his antics but giving him a hard look because someone was listening in. "The only thing you're gonna meet is dust."

"Dust? Why dust?" Raising a brow at me.

I put my hand on the knob and quietly turned it. "Oh you know.....cause I'm gonna beat you..." I opened the door and took off running, laughing at his face as I left.

He followed after me laughing as well. " We don't even know where we are going.." Only having to run fast a little to catch up with my human speed. Little did he know is that there is a lake in the middle of the property. That is where we are headed.

It took us a few minutes to reach it but I did win, speeding up at the last second to get there first. "You cheated." Sticking his tongue out at me.

"All is fair in love and war, but she who knows the destination always wins." Winking at him and chuckling a little bit. I admired the lake side, it has been decades since I last seen it. Its absolutely breathtaking. Crystal clear water with a water fall. Colorful trees along the outer edge not too close to the water, there is a beach that we are standing on and there's a little doc with a small boat attached.

This is home and my how I have missed it. "Its beautiful isn't it?" I turned around quickly as humanly possible, but it was no use. I know that voice from anywhere.
