--- With Kyo and Haruhi---
"Haruhi," Kyo began, "stop pacing you're making me dizzy."
Haruhi looked over to Kyo, "I'm thinking, I can't help that I pace when I think Kyo. we have to get out of here somehow..." she said quickly
"How do you suppose we do that? There are several of them and two of us. And one already is injured, "he gestured to himself, "just sit tight we will figure something out. You're drive yourself mad if you keep contompating so much."
'Damn she's starting to really lose it. Maybe if they would just let us outside she can calm down a little. I'm not much help until my injuries are healed so we can't do anything till then.' he sighed as he carefully hoisted himself off the ground and laid his hand gingerly on Haruhi's shoulders. "Haru calm down please. I can't do much while I'm injured we just have to hope the others are safe and wait for me to heal up then we can take action but you must be patient," he looked at her sternly at her doe eyes, "understand?"
She stared at him for a moment before exhaling dramatically crossing her arms over her chest, "I understand."
He grinned boyishly, "good now sit with me for a bit and stop with the pacing."
They both sat down with their backs against the wall. Kyo sat with his good leg bent so he could rest his arm on it while Haruhi sat with her legs folded under her. Leaning her head on Kyo's shoulder she slowly drifted off into a light sleep along with Kyo.
Bankotsu and Jakotsu came into the room, "they must be exhausted huh Big Brother?" pointed out Jakotsu.
"I don't see how they were passed out the other day when we got here and they haven't done anything," he huffed as he rested Banryu against the wall gently before joining Jakotsu at the table. He stared at Kyo trying to figure out if Hanako could of had this child, it was a thought that he could wrap his mind around.
"Bankotsu, the boy was injured so isn't most of his energy going into the fact he is hurt?" asked Jakotsu with a bored expression as Suikotsu and Renkotsu walked in and joined the other two at the table.
Suikotsu saw the teenagers sleeping and he felt annoyed that the girl was leaning on the boy. Though he didn't understand this sudden feeling that he needed to protect the girl so he shrugged it off.
"Big Brother, I've been thinking," Renkotsu started slowly breaking the silence, "that boy, Kyo, resembles you to the tea, and if my calculations are correct they are around 15 years of age," he continued
"Out with it Ren," Bankotsu huffed as he crossed his arms over his broad plated chest.
"Mamoko, Hanako, and Kimiko all vanished 15 years ago before we were killed," he continued, "I have a feeling they may be their children and Kyo must be your son..."
Everyone stared at Renkotsu then turned to Bankotsu awaiting his reply, "Hanako would have never just up and disappeared if she were with child, she would have told me." he said then he abruptly got up and left the hut.
"Brother Renkotsu, if what you say is true then," Suikotsu looked over to Haruhi for a moment as the idea finally clicked in his mind, "possible the girl who looks so much like Kimiko, is my daughter?" both Renkotsu and Jakotsu looked over to Haruhi noting the resemblance she carried to their friend. Renkotsu nodded as Suikotsu looked down thinking to himself, 'would she have ever told me? And if Haruhi is my daughter then did Kimiko leave by choice? Did they all leave willingly?'
'If the women did not disappear then... they ran away. Could that be why this is such a touchy subject for Big Brother? Can he not grasp the thought of Hanako willingly leaving him?' thought Jakotsu as his heart grew heavy for his leader and best friend.
Soon the teenagers began to stir awake. Haruhi was the first to fully open her eyes as she slowly got up from Kyo's shoulder. She looked and observed that 3 of the 7 men were sitting across the room conversing with each other. Haruhi observed her father, Suikotsu, carefully. 'They all don't seem too bad after you've been with them for a bit, I wonder how mother fell in love with a killer...' she pondered the subject until Kyo fully woke up and shifted his body a little.
He looked over to where Haruhi was looking and saw the mercenaries and noted the one she was most likely observing the most.
"How?" she asked barely audible to Kyo.
He looked over to her, "because you don't choose who you fall in love with."
She looked to him and smiled slightly, "I guess you're right... but would they ever love us?"
Jakotsu had walked over, "hey kid how are your wounds? Suikotsu wants yo ver there so he can redress them," he said to Kyo as he pointed to his comrade. Kyo nodded and slowly got up, surprisingly Jakotsu helped im up gently. Haruhi kept a close eye on Kyo to where she barely noticed Jakotsu sit next to her.
He tapped her shoulder slightly, "yes?" she asked wide eyed that he was so close.
"If you don't mind my asking but," he started, "what are your parents names?" her face paled at his question.
'What would he do if he knew? I could lie... no he might see right through me...' she thought frantically while twiddling her fingers nervously. "Kimiko..." she said in a whisper.
Jakotsu's eyes widened, 'so... she is Suikotsu's daughter? Or at least she is Kimiko's...'
"Well who is Kyo's?" he asked
Haruhi sighed, 'I might as well just tell him everything, there is no point in hiding it. Maybe they will even help?' she looked into his eyes with sorrow written across her face. "Look... Kyo's mother is Hanako and I know she was with your leader Bankotsu. So if you're going to ask, yes he's his son. But he also has a daughter, Kyo's twin sister's name is Kisa-"
"Renkotsu is Takashi's father, his mother is Mamoko, and yes Suikotsu is Haruhi's father," interrupted Kyo as the other two members stared at him wide eyed. "We didn't say anything because of the reason our mothers told us as to why they left."
"So they did leave willingly..." said Jakotsu sadly. At this point Bankotsu had returned and Mukotsu was on his tail. The members eyed their leader for a moment anticipating his reaction.
"So you mean to tell me Hanako left me willingly and had your sister and you without telling me she was with child?" his eyes became a stormy blue.
"She left not knowing she was pregnant till a couple days later," Kyo said as he stood intrint of Haruhi just in case, "they originally left because Kimiko was pregnant with Haruhi. They feared what Suikotsu would do not knowing if a band of mercenaries wanted to deal with children," his face hardened.
"Then later the others fond they too were pregnant, they ended up at a temple full of monks who allowed us to live there with them," added Haruhi as she got up to stand behind Kyo, "they helped raised us until the head monk told us that a great evil will come and that it wasn't safe there for us anymore."
Bankotsu was seething with anger at the thought of Hanako leaving, and at the fact he was kept from his children. He roughly punched the nearby wall creating a giant hole before storming off into the woods.
Haruhi looked to Suikotsu who was already staring at her, she looked down with unshed tears. Kyo turned to her and wrapped an arm around her to comfort her.
"Where are the rest of you know?" asked Renkotsu
"I'm not sharing that information since you must be working for Naraku," Kyo cast an icy glare to the fire breather, "so long as he is hunting us down like animals you too are the enemy here."
Haruhi looked up at the men as she clung to Kyo, "Don't take it personally, Kyo will do anything to protect all of us."
With that the mercenaries nodded slowly and backed away from the two. Haruhi helped Kyo sit down to rest and so he didn't reopen his newly bandaged wounds. She sat down next to him and she held her gaze with her father till she put her head down.
'Mother, please be safe. I hope everyone is alright too...' she thought to herself as she took hold of Kyo's hand and he tightly squeezed it.
