--- With Kyo and Haruhi---

Kyo had woken up early the next day and carefully rose to his feet. He slowly opened the double sliding doors that lead outside. Once open he sat down, leaning his back against the doorway as he stared at the sky awaiting the sun. Almost in a trance, he watched as the sky changed from red to orange and yellow, finally the sun began to peek through the border of trees. He was lost in thought watching the sky shift colors.

---Flashback---

"Big Brother slow down! I can't keep up!" shouted Kisa as she chased her brother around the main temple grounds.

"C'mon Kisa hurry up momma is returning home today!" he yelled back to her with a smile that stretched from ear to ear, his cobalt eyes shining with pure joy.

Hanako was nearing the entrance of the temple with Mamoko when she saw her two 6 year old twins running up to her. She smiled as she braced for impact ready to be tackled by small bodies and little arms wrapping around her. They collided with her and fell to the group with an "Umph" and giggles.

Hanako sat up holding her children smiling warmly at them, "awe my little ones missed me that much?" she winked as her children smiled and nodded their heads excitedly. "Oh how I missed you two as well," she lay a hand on Kisa's small cheek while her other arm wrapped around her sons small shoulders.

"Momma, you were gone longer than usual," pouted Kisa

"Yeah I was afraid you wouldn't come back," Kyo said quietly as he looked down.

Hanako's eyes widened and then she kissed their foreheads, "I would never leave you, I love you more than life itself," she smiled that warm bright smile her children had inherited from her.

---End Flashback---

"More than life itself..." he said to himself as he hadn't noticed Haruhi join him at the doorway. She looked to him knowing he was thinking of happier times.

With a sigh she laid her hand on Kyo's shoulder, "Kyo, is everything okay?" she asked quietly. He looked to her a moment before returning his gaze to the sky, by this point most of the other band members have woken up and Bankotsu along with Renkotsu noticed the two teenagers.

"Yeah Haru," replied Kyo, "I'm alright. Just thinking is all," he turned to her fully and gave her that smile he only gave to few people. The one that those who received it could read him like a book filled with such pain and sadness, but still feel the love and adoration he gave them.

Bankotsu felt a tug at his heart every time he saw Kyo smile, all he would see was Hanako. His confusion and pain made him angry when he didn't want to be. He demanded answers but didn't exactly know who to ask.

Renkotsu noticed his leaders inner conflict, "why not try talking to him?"

His leader was silent for a moment before letting out a long drawn out sigh, "Ren, if your son suddenly showed up here would you just start up a conversation? Or would your inner turmoil cause you to keep a safe distance?"

Pondering the question a moment Renkotsu finally answered, "if my son somehow appeared here, I think I'd want to get to know him. Because possible he is dealing with just as much confusion as I would be," he walked away from his leader before there was a reply.

Kyo and Haruhi still sat at the doorway, "Kyo c'mon talk to me, please?" she shook his shoulder lightly.

He looked to her, "you know when our mothers told us why they left?" Haruhi nodded her head, "they each had so much sadness in their eyes, yet when I look at my own father I see anger. I always wondered what it would have been like to meet my father, never would I have pictured he'd look at me and hold so much anger in his face. Makes me wonder if it was a good think they left when they did, or I wonder if things would have been different ya know?"
