Chapter 8: eyes of fire and the unexpected

Annalise's POV:

My brothers and I were in the living room talking when the door bell rang.

" i'll get it " Damon said rolling his eye's, he went over to the door and opened it and in come two men , one wearing a suit and the other jeans and a shirt. Damon scowled " what are you doing here " he obviously new who they were. I started getting protective.

" we wanted to meet Annalise " the one in the suit said he looked at me and smiled. He walked over to me.

" it's very nice to meet you Annalise My name is Elijah Mikealson and this is my brother Fin"He was very nice he gave of this warm feeling and he had manners ,manners I haven't seen since old times. I started to loosen up.

" it's nice to meet you both " I said smiling Damon and Stephan didn't look to pleased. Are these bad men? 
" I hope that we will  be seeing you at ball tonight " he smiled . Oh no I nearly forgot about the ball.

" I wouldn't miss it , thank you so much for inviting me " I replied politely , I heard Damon chuckle. I gave him a scowl.

" It's our pleasure , welcome home " he grabbed my hand and kisses it. There formality is amazing even if it's been 1000 years they still know how to act like gentleman and unlike my brothers and I we have lost our way I guess thats the perks of being a vampire. But the boys did not look happy at all. Fin did not say a word he was very quiet. " we will see you soon , good bye Annalise , Damon and Stephen " Elijah turned and fin nodded.they both  walked out the door my brothers turned around and looked at me. With a weird look.

" what " I said  confused they both looked at each other and then back at me.

" what was that" replied laughing. I rolled my eyes.

" they were being nice so I was being nice "I was trying to be cheeky

" yes malady but Annalise you need to be careful with the Mikealson family, you can be in there good books for so long until they turn on you  " Stephan said with a worried look. I was confused they seemed so nice like even Rebecca said they had there flaws but they weren't bad .

" Rebeka said the other day she would protect me and I know what they are like I promise you I will be careful" i shrugged my shoulders. They stayed silent." I am going to go get ready" they both rolled their eyes and then nodded , I walked up the stairs to my room.  I have to look elegant because there family is so formal that I have nearly forgotten what it's like to be that way. Well kol  and Rebeka aren't very formal but I guess that's because they are younger.

Kol's POV:

Rebekah is having her nails polished by an assistant And I am standing before a full-length mirror wearing a black evening suit while a tailor adjusts it hating it already.  Finn and Elijah are also standing in the room preparing for the ball.

"Rebekah? Tell me how handsome I am" i said with a cheeky grin. I live and breathe  to make her mad.

"Ah Kol, you know I can't be compelled." She replied,I turned around and saw Finn grin, The door opened and Klaus walks in and  fire burning in his eyes he turned to rebekah.

"You went after Elena? What is wrong with you?!" He was angry Oh lord she didn't , she is on big trouble now.

"Here we go." She replied  in a bored tone, you would think I would get sick of the fighting but I am just so used to it.

"Do you want another dagger in your heart?" He threatened  I quickly defended Rebekah.

"Again with the dagger threats? Don't you have any other tricks?" I turned  to him , he glared at me. my brother and I don't get along even at the best of times.

"Oh, go back to staring at yourself." trying to be smart , I chuckled.

" And who are you, my father?" I replied back

"No, Kol, but you're in my house" he was getting angrier. I walked up to him and stared into his eyes.

"Then perhaps we should go outside."  I was ready to fight him, he left me in a box with a dagger in my chest for so long that he deserved to pay.We stared at each other. Then my mother walked in.

"Enough! Niklaus. Come." She said and they both walked into another room, I chuckled and went back to the mirror . Elijah decided to break the ice a while later.

" fin and I met Annalise today "Rebekah smiled and spoke.

" she is really nice isn't she ?" I looked at her and realised that she was really happy. I have never known anyone to make her smile like that unless there is a boy involved.

" why are you so happy " I asked.

" because I found a friend that understands and she is coming to the ball , which will take my mind off ripping that bitch's throat out.  She was talking about Elana they never got along well nobody really did.

" yes well Annalise is a very sweat girl , she still remembers the old ways of being formal to a person and I admire that , but there's something about her" Elijah said , I looked at him.

" what do you mean " I was curious.

" one of my many perks of being an original I can read people easy and dear Annalise has a very tragic past and is still reliving it " he replied . I was nervous I promised that I wouldm't say anything.

" yeah she is she hasn't told us what happened yet just that she is running from someone " Rebekah looked sad while she said that. Elijah looked at her them looked at the mirror.

" well wether she confides in us and explaines what happened I feel that we need to keep a close eye on her and protect her for the time being " was getting even more confused. Elijah never really cared for anyone else. 

" since when did you care about other vampires and there problems" I smirked at him and he turned to me.

" funny that you are asking me that when you already know " he replied  , I looked at him what was he talking about? .

" what ? " he smiled and left the room. Rebekah was confused also.

" what did he mean kol "  I turned around to look at her.

" I don't know " I looked back in the mirror, I thought hard about what Elijah said, he didn't make any sense but I was curious to know what he meant so I am going to find out .
