Chapter 4- Chasing My Killer

“Let me go!” I hissed.

Aaron laughed and tightened his grip on my arm. “No.”

“I’m serious! Let me go so we could talk!” I said.

He looked at me like I was crazy. “Talk? About why I killed you? When I met you in real life I wouldn’t say it. Do you really think I’d tell you in a dream?”

“A dream? What do you mean? This is all just a dream?”

Aaron nodded, and let go of me. His grip left me falling down the cliff I had just seen last night.

“You’re having a dream! Wake up!”

I twisted and turned until my eyes popped open. In front of me, stood Christine. Her eyes were full of worry which scared me. “I-I know.”

“Was it about Aaron?” She asked, pulling me into a hug.

Then, I pulled away from her. “Yes.”

“Oh…then just forget about it,” she tried reassuring me.

I jumped to my feet and looked her in the eyes, “No, Christine! I won’t forget about it! It’s almost been two weeks in hell! Literally! That guy is going to pay for it!”

Christine blinked, probably surprised at my sudden eruption. “I got an idea, Apps.”

Aaron’s P.O.V.

I looked around my house, making sure that all doors were locked. Ghosts couldn’t come in without entrance, right? Or was that vampires? Last night’s visit from April was creepy, and I felt haunted. I couldn’t sleep, or even close my eyes.

Did I show April that I felt sorry? No. I just wanted to cover my fear because even if a dead soul found out what I did…I’d be in jail the next day. That was a promise any police could guarantee. The doorbell rang, so my thoughts were interrupted.

“Who is it?” I yelled, still holding my coffee in my hand.

There was no answer at the door, so my hand shook under the mug. Shoot. Were the cops here to get me? I swear if one of the guys told, I’d kill them, I thought. Then, a second thought occurred to me. What if it was April?

“Who is it?” I yelled again, though my voice cracked a bit.

There was still no answer, but the doorbelling hadn’t ended yet. I thought I still had some guts in me, so I headed toward the door, leaving little drops of coffee on the table. I peeked out the peep hole to see who was there. Asher, my best friend since kindergarten.

“Oh, it’s just you,” I whispered to myself, allowing my heart beat to go back to normal.

I opened the door, but tried to close it tightly again. There it was…the skateboard that April used to communicate with me. It was floating in the air…with nobody holding it. All I know was that someone was holding down Asher because he would never do this to me. It was too late. Everything went black.

April’s P.O.V.

I closed all of Aaron’s windows and sat there on the couch. This was all Christine’s idea…I promise. Well, I take that back. It was kind of my idea to use Asher as bait for Aaron to open the door. It was Christine’s idea to hit Aaron on the head with the skateboard and tie both of the two friends down on the chairs.

“I can’t believe we just did that, Chris.”

Christine laughed at me, like this was humorous. “It’s funny. Boys say their always stronger than girls…look where that got them.”

“I know, but this is like kidnapping them and storing them in their house,” I paused, “I mean…I did want to know the answer, but why this way?”

She looked at me, her face turning red. “I have no idea. My first instinct is always violence.”

“You serious?! Violence?! I thought you wanted to be an angel?—“

We both stopped when both boys became conscious again. I had no idea why Asher became unconscious…we didn’t even hit him. Maybe it was from shock. Out of all of the boys…Asher was the nervous and scared one.

Christine smirked as she grabbed the skateboard and started swaying it in front of Aaron. He jumped and tried to break free from the ropes. I had to hand it to Christine…she was good at tying people down…literally.

“April! Stop! I’m serious!” He screamed, almost like a girl.

I rolled my eyes. He finds the skateboard I had yesterday and he thinks it’s automatically me. Nice, right? Then, I looked around to see if I could find paper…which I did. I went over to the printer and grabbed pieces of paper and a pen.

I scribbled this on there and held it in front of Aaron: You’re so stupid Aaron. I’m not the one holding the skateboard. It’s my friend Christine. She’s also the one that hit you.

“Well, both of you stop it!” Aaron yelled.

Christine glanced over at Asher, who looked like he was about to wet his pants. She laughed, and dropped the skateboard on the ground, making both of the boys and us jump.

I smiled: Just talk…or else we’ll hit you again. Or even worst…I’ll haunt all of you and your friends. Maybe they can tell me something.

“If he won’t talk…I’ll talk! Just let me go! You girls are creeping me out!” Asher blurted out. I guess little boy pee couldn’t take it anymore.

I laughed: Works for me. Ash gets to go and we’ll talk. Then we’ll kill Aaron!

Aaron screamed. “I’ll talk! Wait, no. We’ll both talk!”

I smiled with satisfaction: Then start.
