Chapter Twenty Four; Day by Day

[Harry’s POV]

Days went by and weeks seemed to pass slowly as every single day without her just got harder. We were all over the magazines and the head story in every newspaper around the world. This was turning out to be bigger than I had ever expected, and as each day grew more painful I was starting to regret my decision. Every week she came over and collected more of her belongings as she was now living with her friend that she met in America. She seemed so happy all of the time and I began to get the feeling that she had already moved on. The times she rarely came over were the highlights of my weeks and it soon became apparent to me that I couldn’t just keep ignoring my feelings for her any longer. I knew I still loved her, and I knew that trying to pay no attention to that fact only made things worse for me. I desperately want her to know how I am feeling but I’m afraid she no longer feels the same way.

Today marked what would have been our two year relationship anniversary. I sat on the lounge as I checked my tweets via my phone. Yep, just what I thought. More bullshit about me and Zoe. I was sick of all this crap, I mean; it didn’t make anything any easier for me having to read about it every day. One Direction had lost heaps of followers, and they all thought I was the bad guy for breaking her heart, little did they know that it wasn’t even my fault, the choice wasn't even up to me. I let out a sigh as I got off the lounge and went to the kitchen to look for some food. I opened the cupboard to reveal five empty shelves with almost nothing on them.

“I really needed to get out of this prison…” I mumbled under my breath. Louis had been staying at his girlfriends for just over a week now as they were newly engaged, and loving it! This left me all home alone and broken hearted. I hadn’t even bothered to go out and do anything for the past week; I guess with the whole break up crap, I didn’t even feel like it. But with absolutely no food to eat what so ever I knew that I needed to pick up the pieces and compose myself. Just for a few short hours so I could atleast get some shopping done, and what better time to do it than at night? It meant that there would be less people around and that means less chance of being snapped by paparazzi’s. As I was walking out the door I found an envelope sitting on the door mat with mine and Zoe’s name scrawled across it. I picked it up and opened the envelope to find a single ticket to tomorrow night’s concert and it was then that I remembered that when Zoe and I were still together I had pre-ordered a special ticket for her. “Shit” I whispered to myself wondering exactly what I was going to do with it. I sighed as various thoughts popped into my head. If I give it to her, would she think I am crazy? Would it give her the wrong idea? But wait, I still love her so even if it does gives her the wrong idea technically that idea would still be right! I smiled at my genius thinking. That was it, screw the shopping, I was dropping by her new apartment to give it to her. I guess this was the real truth to finding out whether her feelings for me were still there. I smiled to myself happily, this excited me like nothing else ever could and even though so much had gone on over the past few weeks and even though It was me who had broken her heart, I strangely had this feeling of faith that something might finally go right for me.

[Zoe’s POV]

“Caitlin!” I yelled hoping she would hear me.

“It’s your turn on the Wii. Hurry up or you’ll miss your go!” I shouted again. I was so thankful that I had such amazingly kind and caring friends. Whenever I spend time with them I almost forget about everything that I’ve been through lately. Although at the thought of it, it seems like an impossible task. I quickly ran down and jumped onto the couch in between Emily and Rachael. We were having a girl’s night in and Tilly was busy preparing hot chocolates for everyone. We were all giggling and laughing as Rachael took Caitlin’s controller off of the lounge and made her Wii character fail, ruining her turn. “HEY!” She screamed as she appeared on the stairs and came running towards us. “That’s so not fair!” She whined as she snatched her controller out of Rachael’s hands who was still laughing uncontrollably.
