Eleanor's P.O.V.

"Sorry," I told him as I stepped on his foot again. "I told you I don't know how to dance."

"You're getting better though." he complimented me for the third time tonight. "Just keep following my lead. Waltz is all about having a partner who knows what they're doing." he winked at me and I couldn't help the light shade of pink that started forming on my cheeks.

I looked away, avoiding all eye contact, as I spoke up again. "I don't usually dance at these things. This is the first time I did so far." I said, trying to focus on what I'm saying and not on Richard so that my blush will go away. "I mean, people have asked me before but I never really wanted to dance with them." I said without realising it.

"Is that so? I'm flattered." he told me with a proud, playful look.

My eyes widened as I turned to look at him and I blushed harder. "W-well, d-don't be." I tried coming up with something witty and confident to say back. "It's only cause they were strangers and the whole ordeal made me feel uncomfortable." I said and then I finally thought of a good enough comeback. "I guess I agreed to dancing with you because you are not intimidating at all." I said with a smirk, getting some of my confidence back. That wasn't really good...

"Don't try too hard. I don't blame you for falling for the Grayson charm." he teased me lightly as he leaned in and said next to my ear. His actions send shivers down my spine (and disturbed other areas of my downer body too, to be honest). I had to stay confident though and take control.

"The Grayson charm? Is that what you really call it?" I humored him with an amused raised brow.

"My friend, Wally, does. He says making girls fall for me is my superpower." he smiled at me, finding his words amusing.

"And so do the paper and the media." I replied, setting him up for a trap. I'd like to see what he has to say about that.

"That's true but it doesn't mean I haven't had serious relationships before." he said, not even a bit ashamed of his playboy tendencies. "There's something different about you, you know. You are one of those girls who can make a guy fall for them if they want." he then told me, our eyes meeting as once again I felt trapped under his gaze.

I could feel my cheeks getting warm as I tried to tell myself that a relationship between him and me was implausible.

"You're just attracted to the challenge that I made you face. To the mystery of my name. Things would be different if I had told you right away." I argued.

"I don't think so, it's your character that intrigues me." he argued back. "But truth be told, the challenge spices things up." he then smirked at me.

We continued dancing to three other songs as we engaged in small talks, mainly teasing each other and trying to make the other intimidated, when he lead me outside on the balcony. Others were there too, but it was so big that we could be at the corner and feel like we were alone.

I waited for him to come with our drinks, completely forgetting I had to look after George, Veronica and Cameron.

"Here you go." he gave me my coke, as he himself was drinking some kind of alcoholic drink. I don't really know about these things.

"Thank you." I told him as I then took a sip.

"Are you sure you don't want a real drink?" he chuckled, maybe due to remembering how paranoid I acted when I strictly told him to not bring me something that contains alcohol.

"I don't drink alcohol. Only water, juice and sodas. I'm a huge goody two-shoes." I laughed at how lame I was. I mean, I'm of drinking age at a ball and still don't drink.
