6. FLASHBACK : The Half Truth

"But....when did they get married....??" She asked at last while he looked at her thinking about the day which changed everything.

He took a deep breath and asked "A year after we met, did you remember Mukthi saying that her parents got to know about her relation with Abhi..??"

She thought for a while and said "Yeahh...She called me and said that aunty and uncle saw her with Abhi and now she can't meet him as they were against her relationship. She asked me to come soon as I was in Manglore with Amms that time..."

"Yes...Her parents thought that Abhi has trapped her for money and they raised question on his community...That day..." Manik started narrating.

FLASHBACK

When Mukthi was not allowed to meet Abhi, she found that her parents are looking for an alliance to get her married as soon as possible.

The day before she got murdered, she escaped from her home and came to Abhi's house where both Abhi and Manik were thinking how to solve the problem.

"Manik...Kuch karo please...I can't lose her yaar...Please..." Abhi pleaded Manik while Mukthi entered in a hurry. Both got shocked seeing her and exclaimed "Mukthi...!!"

She ran to Abhi and hugged him tight and started crying, "Abhi...Please...Do something...Mom Dad are looking for alliance...Please..I can't live without you..."

Abhi kept on consoling her and looked at Manik for help. Manik thought for a while and said "Abhi..Mukthi...let's got to registrar office...Only solution is you both get married...As you guys are majors, we can easily fight this..."

"Par...."Mukthi stopped them.

"Par kya...??" Manik asked.

"Nandini nahi hai yaha..." She said blankly.

"Haa toh...??" Manik asked in a careless tone.

"Manik..She is my only friend...I want her to be there....and moreover...I don't have anyone to sign for me..." Mukthi reasoned and Manik started thinking.

"When will she come..??" Abhi asked.

"I called her and said about Mom and Dad...She said she will be there tomorrow..." Mukthi said.

"Mukthi..Try to understand..Time nahi hai hamare pass...You guys must get married...." Manik said and looked here and there.

An idea stuck his mind and he took both of them to a room where his parents' photos are kept.

He took the sindoor box and mangalsutra and forwarded it to Abhi saying, "Yeh...mere..Mom ka hai...Carry on Abhi..."

Abhi looked at him with teary eyes and looked at Mukthi if that is ok but still she was hesitant.

"Mukthi...Please...Try to understand the situation...By this time, your parents might have come to know that you ran away from house....They directly will come here...Just follow this ritual then we will go to the office and will register your marriage...I think that will be best...and your wish of having your best friend also will be done..." Manik convinced.

Mukthi thought for a second and nodded her head in acceptance.

Abhi smiled and filled her maang and kept the mangalsutra. Manik hugged both of them and suggested to leave the place to avoid further chaos tonight.

"Abhi...Just go to my farm house...Spend this night there...Tomorrow we will go to register your marriage...Please...." Manik advised and they both agreed.

Three went to farm house and Manik spent some time with them.

"Ok..Mukthi..Abhi...Happy married life...Forget all the tensions and enjoy the night...waise rooms are sound proof..." He said and winked with a smile while both blushed.
