Kim Namjoon was standing by the brown kitchen counter, pouring himself a cup of steaming coffee, when his boyfriend walked into the room.
"Good morning, beautiful", Namjoon hummed, leaning onto the bench while eyeing his boyfriend up and down. His brown hair was sticking into all directions, his skin almost glowed in the sunlight coming through the window. He looked sleepy, and it was cute.
"Morning, Joonie", he replied, walking over and putting his arms around Namjoon, who immediately stopped pouring and did the same.
"Did you sleep well?" the brown haired boy asked, his face buried in Namjoon's chest.
"Yeah, how about you?" Namjoon responded, resting his chin on the top of the other's head.
"Mhm", the boy hummed, and angelic sound if you asked Namjoon, but not nearly as angelic as the face that looked up at him in the next second.
Namjoon smiled, putting a hand on the other's cheek, about to draw him into the first kiss of the morning, when they were rudely interrupted by a harsh knocking on the door.
The two boys sighed, Namjoon quickly pecking his boyfriend's lips before going to get the door.
"Alright, alright, calm down, I'm coming!" he shouted as the knocking got louder. He was starting to get annoyed when he finally reached the door, ripping it open.
His expression immediately changed when he saw Min Yoongi standing outside with a ghastly look on his face and something that looked alarmingly similar to remains of blood in his messy black hair.
"Namjoon", the pale boy breathed out, a look of despair overtaking his features.
"Yoongi, what's going on? You look like you've seen a ghost", Namjoon said, worry in his voice.
"Joonie, who is it?" Namjoon's boyfriend shouted from the kitchen.
"Uhm, it's Yoongi", Namjoon quickly replied, before moving out of the way. "Come in".
Yoongi dragged himself inside the apartment, kicking off his shoes and following Namjoon to the kitchen.
"Oh my God, Yoongi, you look like a corpse", Namjoon's boyfriend exclaimed with a gasp when he saw their guest. It seemed like this triggered something in Yoongi, because in the next second, he was collapsing on the floor, gagging.
"Wow, Yoongi!" Namjoon shouted, kneeling down next to his friend while his boyfriend took a few steps back in shock.
"Jin, go get him a glass of water", Namjoon called, the brown haired boy nodding, before turning and rushing to do as he was told. Meanwhile, Namjoon managed to calm Yoongi, making him get up from the floor and into a kitchen chair.
"Yoongi, tell med what's going on", Namjoon ordered as Jin placed the glass in front of their friend.
Yoongi took a sip of the glass before clearing his voice.
"Do you remember anything from last night?" he asked, his voice was hoarse.
"Yeah, I remember most of it. Why?" Namjoon replied. Last night, all three of them had went to one of Seoul's many nightclubs to get some drinks, but Namjoon had lost sight of Yoongi after just a few hours, so he simply stayed in the booth at the back together with Jin. Had Yoongi met someone that made him like this? Had something happened?
"Well, do you remember me... leaving with someone?" Yoongi mumbled, struggling to get his words out.
Wait, was he crying?
"No, we lost you pretty quickly. Why? What's going on Yoongi?" Namjoon asked, his voice laced in concern. He had never seen Yoongi like this before.
The look in the black haired boy's eyes when he looked up made Namjoon's heart skip a beat in pure horror.
"I woke up next to a dead body, Namjoon. A corpse. And I can't remember if I was the one who killed him or not".
The silence that followed was deafening. Everybody was holding their breath.
"What?" Jin whispered, all color escaping from his face as he processed the words that had just been confessed.
"What are you saying, Yoongi? Did you... murder someone?" Namjoon uttered.
"No!" Yoongi protested. "At least I don't think so. You see-" he began, but the sudden recalling of the memories made him stop dead in his track.
"See what?" Namjoon asked, a serious look on his face.
"He wasn't just... dead, you know?" Yoongi pressed forth. A tear rolled down his cheek.
"No, I don't know. Yoongi, this is serious, tell me".
"His heart was ripped out of his back, Namjoon."
The room went silent once more, but it only lasted for about a sceond, and Jin was, again, the person to disturb it.
He abruptly stood up, both hands covering his mouth, scurrying out of the kitchen.
"Do you think I am a murderer?" Yoongi croaked, looking at Namjoon with glazed eyes.
Namjoon didn't know what to say. His heart was pounding, his palms were sweaty. Would Yoongi have been able to do such a horrible thing? But if so, why? What would drive him into committing a crime like that? Not just murdering someone, but ripping their heart out of their body? Not to mention, Yoongi got nauseous just by looking at blood. He couldn't have done it. He simply couldn't.
"No".
A wave of relief hit Yoongi's expression as he sunk into the chair.
"Thank God", he whispered, clutching the water glass in his hand.
"But why are you here? Did you call the police? Shouldn't you stay until they arrived?" Namjoon asked, leaning forward.
"I ran away. I know they are going to frame me. I can't remember anything, Joon, not a single thing. It looks like I did it. So I ran away. I stopped by a phone booth nearby, saying that I had heard some strange noises from his apartment, that they should check it out as soon as possible. Then I came here", Yoongi explained, looking out of the window as if he expected to see someone there.
"But, Yoongi, if they catch you, how will you explain why you ran away?" Namjoon asked, mentally face palming at his younger friend's stupidity in a situation this serious.
"I don't fucking know, okay! Once you've started running, you can't stop, can you?! How will it look if I turn myself in now, huh?!" Yoongi shouted, glaring at his friend on the other side of the table.
"Okay, okay. Just calm down", Namjon ushered. "We need to figure out what to do".
"I have to leave town. I'm going to grab some clothes from back home, and go to Busan", Yoongi said, getting out of the chair. Namjoon followed him into the living room.
"Hold up! Where will you stay? And what about money? If they find your DNA on the dead boy, they would be able to trace your card, Yoongi. They would come here to question me and Jin".
"I- just- URGH!" Yoongi exclaimed, burying his head in his hands. Namjoon quickly engulfed him in a hug.
"We'll figure it out, okay? I'll give you all the cash we have, and we'll find you a hotel, I'll book it in my name. It's going to work out, okay?"
"Okay", Yoongi sobbed into his friend's shoulder.
But was it, really?
He didn't really think so.
