Chapter 7-Prom Night

The next day went by quite fast and I was busy. I slept in and woke up at around 12-1 pm.

Girls usually say that guys take five minutes to get ready, but that's not me. I had a lot on my mind and was stressed, I wanted everything to go well.

Stephanie told me her prom dress was purple, so I went out to buy matching color clothes after taking a look at the picture of the dress she sent me.

It took a while to find, but by 4 pm, I had finished half the things I needed to do.

I would check things off my To Do List as the hours passed then the hour was getting closer, faster than I had expected and I wasn't ready yet.

Someone called right when I was about to leave to go get her.

I ran to get the phone, slipped down the three deadly little stairs, fell and the cake I baked was ruined.

It was a cake perfect for two people and it said Congrats and everything else, but it was ruined.

So there it was, prom was off to a bad start.

The pain in my leg didn't stop me from driving to go to her house. I got there and saw her boyfriend there and I noticed she was sitting on the roof.

I parked the car on the street in front of her house and didn't dare to go near her boyfriend. I tried to hide and sneak then I arrived at the side of the house.

I climbed up, trying to prevent getting my clothes dirty then I sat beside her.

"Somebody needed help. SUPERMAN IS HERE! Nothing to worry about babe, it'll be okay." I whispered in her ear. She had tears in her eyes and her makeup was mixing with her tears of sadness.

"There's nothing to be sad about, it'll be okay. Today is our day, we can do whatever we want. Come on let's go."

"Louis, you don't get it! He's here. We can't go. He refuses to leave until I come down. He knows I'm home. There's no way out except the front door or the backyard. He'll see us and then he's going to hurt me. This is the worst prom ever."

She was sobbing, so I gave her a hug and a shoulder that she could cry on.

"It's not over yet and there's still other ways, we can get out of here. The same way I got up here. Come, let's make the most of our night. Tonight we are young. We'll never get this chance again."

Holding hands we had to be careful to get from the middle of the roof, where we were sitting to the side of the house to the ladders and everything that had helped me climbed.

"After you." I said.

"I'm scared..." she admitted.
