The next day. I decided to leave early in the morning to go see Louis. I brought him some breakfast as well because I know hospital food sucks and he doesn't like it much either.

I played the playlist we made together when we were younger on my way there. I didn't let the tears come though, even if it was hard. I hadn't played it since the night of the wedding, so it made me happy to listen to it again.

After staying with him until lunch time, I told him I had to go, since Darcy would probably look for me. That's when he suggested that next time instead of making a playlist with the songs we pick, we should record one. The idea made me feel a little relieved and better. I couldn't believe he said it, but he did and it took a while before it got to my mind.

On my way out, the nurse said Louis should be out tomorrow and he only had to get a few stitches. He also had a bunch of painkillers to take.

I got home at around 1:30 pm.

"Hey Little Haz, where's your mum?"

"Daddy D! She's in the kitchen getting the baby's food." He said, turning his head away from the TV for a minute, to look at me.

The whole day was very lazy. I knew I had to resume work tomorrow and to me it felt like it was a day before school started again after one long summer break, even if it wasn't really. It was basically just like a week and a half since I haven't been.

When Darcy asked about Lou, I told about everything the nurse had said and that's when she said that she wouldn't mind Louis staying over with us for a bit, even if we didn't move yet. She admitted she was going to be lonely anyway, since she'd have to take care of Ana Sophia, who just eat and sleep all day.

There were only three rooms here so I agreed to share my room with Louis. I had a bed for two, so if he were to move in, we would either have to share it or just switch rooms with Harold, since he had two single beds in his room.

"Give him a call babe." She told me.

"Later." I said, thinking that he was probably sleeping seeing as I got there at like 8 am, so he was up early and he needed rest to feel better faster.

About three hours later, I called Louis to tell him about what Darcy had said and he agreed to come stay over for a few days and said he didn’t mind sharing a bed either, so it was all good.

While Darcy was spending time with the kids, I cleaned everywhere and finished up the packing that was left undone. We still had a few last minute things to do and there were still about a month or so left. Harold is supposed to resume school on Monday, the day Darcy has an appointment and I couldn’t get a day off that day, so for now, I’m upset about that.

On the morning of the next day, we all slept in and woke up just in time for lunch, so we just decided to have a “brunch” instead. Then, I got in the kitchen and flipped the pages of the cookbook to see what I could do, since Louis was supposed to come in the afternoon.

After going over all our cookbooks, I’ve started getting some ideas in mind and decided to try my own recipe for once, just to make it a bit for special for Louis, since I always do whatever the cookbooks said.

For appetizers, I made mini-quiches, puff pastries with different fillings and chicken, lamb and beef ‘kebabs’. The sides were salad and garlic bread. For mains, I decided it’d be good to have pasta, chicken pilaf, fried rice, spaghetti tacos, perogies and soup.

Since time was running out, I didn’t really have much time to make desserts which take a lot of time, so I made a no-bake cheesecake, macaroons and I cut some fresh fruits to make a fruit salad kind of thing. There were those frozen easy drinks that we only needed to add water and I also had wine and water.

Our kitchen had a door that could lock and on the other side, connected to our dining room. I shut the door so that Darcy wouldn’t check on me, because I wanted it to be a surprise for her too. It was like that a ‘Welcome Home Baby Ana Sophia’, ‘I missed you Darcy’ and ‘Louis I love you’ kind of dinner. I guess I felt super good and decided to do all this myself without anybody’s help. It was very tiring, but I did it out of love and I wanted tonight’s dinner to be special, even if we didn’t move in together officially just yet and it’s not even the new house.

I even put a tablecloth and made the dining table look super fancy. We had the candles in the cabinet and we had the chair covers so it looked like those tables you see at wedding receptions, and that somewhat made me feel happy because it didn’t look like an everyday thing.

I washed all the dishes and by the time I was done cooking everything, it was already 6 pm and Louis had just arrived. I felt bad that I didn’t even go see him because I was so busy in the kitchen, but I guess he was playing with Harold because I could hear them both pretending they’re on the Nascar Racetrack.
