Chapter 38

Percy POV
I practically ran to Hestia. She was my favorite. I released her with a lot of hesitation and smiled at her. She smiled back and went back to her throne. Zeus stared. Everyone else looked very tense. Good. I just smiled back. "Percy...um, we called you here, as you know, there is someone rising who is very powerful." Steve chuckled, "He gained his power from someone. If we are talking about Loki." Zeus stared. "Yes. How do you know Loki gained his power from another deity?" Zeus went all leader/king mode. James was confused now. "He attacked earth a few years ago. He had the chitauri. He gained them from someone else. He is powerless by himself. He needs someone with more power. That is the only way he can be a threat. He's found someone ." I thought for a second. Then I zoned out. This had to have happened before I came. They never talked about though. I know about Ultron, but nothing about a war with Loki. I was brought out of my trance by my senses. I caught an arrow just before it hit me in the head. Artemis had her bow out. Apollo looked angry, and so did my father. Everyone was either scared or surprised. "Just to get rid of this elephant in the room, I'm not mad. Im upset, yes. I thought that after everything I had done for you all, maybe, you would try to comfort me. The only time I've ever really thought about my well being and I have no one to turn to except for Mr. D. Not even my own father. Though, I forgive you. Doesn't mean it's forgotten." Everyone visibly relaxed. James looked impressed, "Youre all scared of him that much?" I started to fiddle with the arrow. "As much as I hate to admit it. Yes. Perseus is very powerful. If you could have seen him when he fought during the second giant war. Jason Grace and Nico di Angelo sided with Perseus were all a force to be reckoned with. He alone took down, Gaea. Not only a primordial but the Mother Earth." Athena answered. James nodded and Steve looked awestruck. "Now, why did you try to kill me? Lady Artemis?" I called very calmly. She huffed, "You were not paying attention and we had called you a few times and I was tired of it." I nodded. "Now that we have established that Loki has sided with a powerful dude can we go? Or is there another reason why I was called?" I raised an eyebrow. Next thing I knew I was under a pink thing with something on my neck. I heard shouting. "Aphrodite!" I flung the thing off, unintentionally throwing it halfway across the room. Everyone was standing around me. In front of me was an unconscious Aphrodite. "What the Hades just happened?" Hades grimaced slightly. "You pushed her. She's wanted you since the second titan war. She's been patient and today you pushed her. So, she jumped you." Ares said while heading back to his throne. I blushed. James laughed. I was glad I hadn't accidentally stabbed her with the arrow I was still holding. I stood up. "Well." I didnt really know what to say. "She can't exactly have me. I'm gay." Apollo snorted and everyone stared. "What?" Steve and James started laughing with Apollo. "Why didn't you tell us?" My father broke from his trance first. "Why would I?" I shot back. He looked back down. Lady Hestia hit me upside the head. I glared. "He had it coming." Lady Artemis huffed, "Can we be dismissed? I have some thing I need to attend to." Zeus shrugged, "Sure." With that she disappeared making me close me eyes. When I opened, Ares was gone along with Aphrodite and Hephaestus. Hermes and Apollo were gone too. Demeter and Lady Hera were talking. And Zeus, my father and Hades stayed. "We are not asking you to fight for us. We are asking you fight for humanity. With the Avengers." Zeus said while coming towards me with Hades and my father behind him. James tensed. "Like hell I would. There are two people I would fight for. And that's Lady Hestia and Lord Hades. I will fight for them. And I will fight for humanity." My voice was ice. The temperature was dropping. Steve grabbed my shoulder. I clenched my jaw. "Take us home." Hades stepped up and we were enveloped into black. We appeared in the den. Scaring Tony. "Thank you Perseus." Hades melted back into the shadows. I went and sat on the couch. "So, what did you get?" Natasha asked. Clint beside her. Dad came from the kitchen. Tony got up. Thor appeared and Sam came and sat by me. "Well, we learned that they are all scared of Percy." James said. "They're terrified of him." Steve added. Tony looked impressed. Sam and Bruce looked annoyed. Clint and Natasha remained blank. Thor was upset. "Anyway. They have no idea who Loki got his power from. What they do know, is that it's possible someone from their side." They must've said that while I zoned out. I still had Artemis' arrow. I looked closely at it. The arrow had a design. Like lightning. This was Thalia's. I froze. Artemis gave me Thalia's arrow.
'You finally figured it out.'
I smiled. 'Thank you'
The arrow turned into a bracelet and another appeared right next to it.
'I have blessed you. It's the same blessing I give my hunters. The bracelet turns into her bow and arrows. And the other bracelet is aegis.'
Someone was shaking me. "Percy!" Sam was in front of me confused. Everyone was staring. "Sorry." Bruce smiled, "What do the new bracelets do?" I smirked. Nothing escapes his eye. I twisted aegis. Tony screamed and everyone paled. Drastically. I laughed, "This was Thalia's shield. Aegis. Lady Artemis gave it to me. Also, when she shot the arrow at me, it turns out it's Thalia's arrow. Her electrified one. Lady Artemis also blessed me. Because I suck at shooting a bow, but with her blessing and practice, I will be just as good as her hunters. Maybe not but close." I turned aegis back into a bracelet and brought the arrow out. I tightened me grip on it. 'I'm sorry Thalia.'
