Chapter 19- The End

"Please, sit down. We must discuss some things before you are truly apart of us." The man says and we sit down in some chairs, and he sits behind a desk.

"First off, names. I am Diego. I've lead these people for a while now." He says and we look skeptically at each other.

"Hannah." I say back, and he chuckles.

"I'm Martyn." Martyn says quietly and looks at the mushroom necklace he holds in my hands.

"And I'm Lewis. We don't have a leader. We make decisions together, but when things get rough, I normally take over." Lewis says and Diego nods.

"Good. Now, you must contribute to the group, or you must leave. Lewis, I want you working on the cure. Hannah and Martyn, you are guards." Diego says and we all nod, uncertain now.

"Where you will live is... hmm. Riley, where do we have enough room for three people to live?" He calls and a short brown haired girl pops into the room.

"I think in the weapons store we've got some room. They could settle there." The girl, Riley, says and I am transported back to when Kim got bit, when me and Nilesy had to leave her behind.

"Ah, that will do nicely. Thank you Riley." Diego says and stands, and says, "Please, follow me."

We stand and follow him out, and I stay close to Lewis, and Martyn keeps a hand on his bag, in case he needs to get something out.

"Hannah, Martyn, you'll be working on that section of the guard posts tonight, and Lewis, you'll have to follow me to a lab tonight. But for now, you're new living spaces." Diego says and opens the door to he weapons store, and I immediately spot the place where Kim yelled at us to go.

We cross into a back room just big enough for the three of us and I toss my bag onto a bed and I close my eyes, flopping down onto it.

"Well, I'll have Claud come get ya when it's time for your shift. Get some rest, you'll need it." Diego says and leaves, and the boys get onto their own beds.

"You holding up okay, guys?" Lewis says and Martyn and I mutter some sort of agreement.

"Yeah, I'll be okay." I say and sighs.

We wait for hours and some guy comes into the room and grabs me and Martyn by the arms and we look at each other.

"Wait! Where are you taking them!" Lewis says, sitting up and his dark eyes meet my light ones in a panic.

"To their jobs." The man grunts and we get pulled out of the building.

I hear Lewis yell, "Stay safe!" and looks at Martyn with fear.

"How'd we get ourselves into this mess?" I whisper and we are given guns, and the bullets are like none I've ever seen before.

"These bullets, are what Diego calls "cure bullets". When you shoot a walker, the cure should turn the walker back to normal, got it?" The man says and we nod.

We get into our positions in the guard chain and keep an eye in the dark and shady forest.

I hear groans and I see some walkers coming out of the trees and I fire at them, and they fall, but nothing else happens.

"Martyn, these bullets, they're just normal bullets!" I say and looks over at my friend.

"Yeah, I know. But that's not what scares me. Look around." He says and I look and sees that there are only two other guards.

"Why are there only four of us?" I wonder out loud quietly and suddenly, the groaning gets louder.

I turn my head and nearly screams as I see dozens upon dozens of walkers coming towards us, and I fire my gun.

"AGGHHH!" I hear somebody scream and sees another guard getting mauled by a zombie, and the other guard running towards a bell.

"Martyn! We've gotta get out of here!" I scream and turns to see my friend struggling against a zombie and I run over with a knife in hand.

I stab the walkers head and it falls onto Martyn, it's teeth latching into his arm.

"No... No!" I whisper and we stare at each other.

"Hannah, go. Go and find Lewis. I'll be okay. I'll finally be able to get to Zoey, and we can be together." He says and I hug him, and he hugs me back, then shoves me away.

He fires on the zombies and I run to the weapons place, and I scream Lewis's name.

"Hannah!" Lewis yells back and I run to him and walkers pour in from all sides of the town, groaning overwhelming the screams.

"Lewis, I'm scared. I don't want to die." I whisper and he hugs me.

"Neither do I, but at least we are together, Hannah." He says and we look deeply into each other's eyes.

"And there's nobody I'd rather be with than you. I love you." I say and he laughs, both of us crying now.

I hear more and more screams of terror and pain, but me and Lewis just stay still, trapped in our own little world, our own little infinity.

"I love you, Hannah, the owl lover." He says and kisses me, and our worlds slip away into darkness as the zombies reach us.

I feel the biting and Lewis and I both scream, then my eyes close forever.

"Hannah! Wake up! You'll be late for school!" My mother yells and I jolt awake, sweating.

"Lewis... Oh my God, how could it be a dream? He can't be fake. Lewis Brindley, I will find you." I whisper and leaves my bed, still shocked that everything I had witnessed, had been a dream.

{Lewis's p.o.v.}

I jolt awake, the image of a beautiful blonde girl still in my mind, Hannah still in my mind.

"Oh my God, it was a dream. How can I be in love with a girl that doesn't exists? She had to be real, and I'm gonna find her. Hannah Rutherford, I'm gonna find you." I breath and hops out of bed to go work, no, to go see Simon, Rythian and Ridge.

A/N- This is officially the end of this book. How did you guys like that ending! I've already got a second book planned out, and it will be coming out possibly tomorrow, maybe tonight, just not Sunday night or Monday afternoon. I'll be at a friends house then.

I am sad to see this one end, but I am so excited for my next book, and I think that this book ended a little differently then people would expect.
