— Idun —
He reeled for a half a second at the ringing sound coming from his helmet, then struck out with his mithril sword, forcing me to block.
When his sword broke my spear, I caught the blade in a show of raw strength, and then rammed a knee covered in fire into his coin-purse, cracking the plate of metal that cupped his sensitive areas.
Glass cleared his throat while Trevor groaned on the ground. "Lady Idun, the Dean has informed me that your use of attacks to the groin is becoming predictable, and as such would like you to stop. Predictability can and will cost you any chance at the 15th Ranking."
"Hmph. Understood." I shrugged.
Trevor stood slowly, and I summoned my jokers, settling them around the butt of my spear, and simply allowed gravity to return to them, above his head.
He dropped under the weight of 128 Tons of Mithril, his helmet and the ring under his head shattering in a spiderweb formation, and then he laid still, before being teleported out of the ring.
"And the winner, -big surprise,- is Lady Idun." Glass grumbled.
I bowed to the jeers, and went to step out of the ring.
Glass shook his head, motioning back into the ring. "In the Finals, you stay in the ring until someone defeats you." He explained.
"Ah." I nodded, and moved back in, sitting down.
The next enemy, one of the other 14 Finalists, stepped in, and began warming up. I didn't wait for the 'go', and slammed a card into her throat, then another into her temple.
Glass rubbed his temples slowly. "Lady Idun, Dean Syral and I would like to warn you that any further attacks before the signal will be taken as forfeiture of your right to compete."
"Am I breaking a rule or are you losing patience?" I asked simply.
"Patience. My legendary, Ghandi-level patience, is being tested. Go you." He said sarcastically.
"Yay." I smiled, and sat down.
"Ahem... Yes, well, the next fight is between Lady Idun and Lady Eliza, and Bergen and Aurelius! Dragon Tamer vs Prodigy!!! Lady vs Scoundrel! Honor vs Cunning! Cold, Heathenish Calculation vs Heritage and Intelligence!" He grinned, speaking grandly again.
"Aww, I'm blushing!" I smiled.
"Mages, to the Ring!" He roared over the cheers and jeers.
Eliza stepped up, grinning, as Aurelius landed next to her, now as big as Bergen had been when she last saw him, and glowing with Undigested Ether.
"Still up for movies, no matter what?" I grinned.
"Of course, lovely." She smiled back, and then began chanting, carving Runes into her hands with a piece of glowing Ether-Crystal.
"Ooh, shiny." I smirked.
Bergen snorted at his brother, still curled up in the corner, when Aurelius growled curiously. "Our Brood-mother requires no assistance from me. Should she have need of my assistance, I shall interfere, but not before. I believe any, more active, interference, would be wholly unwelcome."
