Cookie Cutter Kids

pointed vertices
straight sides
obediently ordinary
no changing tides

'rebellious' printed on their chests
in still wet ink

but it's all the same font
they have no uniqueness to flaunt
flattened face feels the same as the next.

rehearsed spontaneity
"Haha this is crazy!"
but is it really?

they all act ditzy
lives built on being ritzy and glitzy
individual turned to expendable

why would the world miss just one?
pick another from the bunch,
they're all the same
anyway

criteria to be a cookie cutter kid
no kindness is allowed
the party is never too loud
even if you can't hear the drugs anymore.

drown in alcohol like the ocean
be the center of every commotion
conversation, attention

exclude, never include,
the originals

they only want copies
they're cheaper and easier to please

please, pretty please
save them before their cold hearts freeze.
