Lord Adinolfi comes up. "A moment with you, m'lord," he says. He and Papa walk off. I don't really like him. He has been polite, but cold and distant. He is tall and thin and moved like he had suffered too many battle wounds. I hope father doesn't like him too much. I watch them closely. Adinolfi says something and Papa laughs. The two men then become serious and begin to speak in earnest.
I am distracted by Enzo trying to subtly get my attention. I look at him, and he mouths at me to wish him luck. I nod. He walks over to where Papa and Adinolfi are talking. He joins the conversation and Adinolfi is annoyed. At some point, Enzo and Papa walk off and it is clear that Adinolfi didn't get to say what he had set out to say and I'm glad. I have a pretty good idea what he was going to ask Papa.
Lord Adinolfi walks up to me. Music is still playing. "May I have this dance?" He asks.
"I would love to, but I'm afraid this evening has taxed me and I must rest."
I get up and walk over to Papa and Enzo. "Excuse me Father, m'lord, but may I turn in for the night. The dancing has taxed me and I wish to retire."
"Very well, go ahead." My father says with a wave of his hand.

I just decided to go with "Husband Of My Mind" for my title for now. At least till I come up with something better. I'm still open to ideas.
