and so we walk. we walk in complete silence, my hand intertwined with his, deep into the folds of his coat pocket.
he breaks the silence, looking at me fondly.
"so- viking? or that 360 degrees roller coaster ride we saw in that brochure?"
"well i'd gladly go for the 360 degrees roller coaster, but you're probably too much of a scaredy-cat to ride it with me." i say, chuckling at his expression.
i look at him as he continues to speak.
"excuse me?? me?? afraid?? are you seriou- yeah im not doing that, that shit's way too high." yoongi's eyes flitted upwards, and i turned my head and followed suit.
"that's- that's pretty high, yoongi."
"you realised?"
i raised both fists, wanting to punch him playfully in the shoulders, and he grins at me, catching my fists and holding my hands in his.
"jimin your hands are really, really, really tiny."
"i know- i hate them they're so unmanl-"
"they're fuckin adorable, jimin i- youre so adorable."
i squirm exaggeratedly.
"youre cheesy."
he grabs my arms and puts them over his shoulders, and i interlock my fingers over his neck instinctively.
his hands slide down my back, and i lean my forehead on his shoulder for a second or two. i peer upwards to see his face and he mouths "cheesy for u" whilst winking at me. i shudder, giggling at his reaction.
when we reached the carnival, we found out that sadly, only one ride, the viking, was safe to ride because of the cold weather.
all the years of learning science in high school didn't go to waste- who knew it would earn me cheek pinches and a kiss on my forehead?
"do you know why the rest of the rides are closed?"
"jimin, im not that academically declined."
"well, im going to tell you anyways. so because of the cold weather, the parts of the roller coaster, the metal tracks specifically, shrink due to th-"
"hush, now." he mutters, grabbing my face, pinching and poking my cheeks and then planting a kiss on my forehead.
we walk over to the payment booth, and we top up the same amount of money into one card we were going to share. yoongi had wanted to pay for it all, but how could i possibly? after everything he's done for me? i'd never have imagined releasing my very own single- and he made my dreams become a reality. he stayed up till the wee hours of the morning, watching as the sun the rose- for me.
i was eternally grateful to him.
i climb the steps to the viking ride, my hands on yoongi's back as he made his way in front of me.
i push past people, dashing to the very last seats of the ride- they were the best seats.
"uhh, you sure you're not too scared for these seats? we can move in front, jiminie." yoongi says slowly, eyes wide as if he were pleading me silently.
i squeeze my eyes shut and scrunch my nose, shaking my head.
"no, these are the best seats."
"do as you please. just-just don't be scared and throw up on me." he says, straining his facial muscles to look as nonchalant as possible.
"sure." i reply, shrugging and raising both eyebrows at him.
we both raised our hands after we buckled up, allowing the bar that kept us from falling to our deaths to secure itself into place with a reassuring "click" sound.
a loud noise was heard, the motor of the ride, perhaps, and soon enough the viking ride was 40 feet in the air, swinging back and forth.
"oh i mean its not that high, its-its alri-WHAT THE FUCK!!" yoongi yells, squeezing his eyes shut and burying his face into my neck.
i take the opportunity, whip out my phone, and start taking a video of yoongi full on sHOUTING with his head on my chest.
"my fUCKING EARS- yOONGI STOP YELLING INTO MY FUCKING EARS!!"
we both burst out into laughter as the family of four infront of us whipped their heads around, turning to look at us.
as the ride came to a halt, yoongi's face remained buried comfortably in my neck.
i nudge his head with my shoulder, and drag him off the ride, and as my hand held his tightly, i looked into his eyes, searching for an answer.
was this the beginning of something new?
