I Wont Let Anyone Hurt You

Leo's POV

Nico and I had parted ways once we got to the dining pavilion. Nico sat alone at the Hades table and I sat with my half brothers and sisters at the Hephaestus table. Everyone kept looking at Nico weirdly, like there was something wrong with him. I'm sure everyone heard that Nico had died, but I don't think anyone knew that he got his life back from his dad. Maybe they thought that he shouldn't be here, that he should be dead. I didn't think that, I know that Nico should be alive.

"Shouldn't he be dead?" One of my siblings muttered as she looked at Nico.

"Yeah he should be. Heard he killed himself because he rejected some idiot. Also heard the idiot he rejected is a guy." I felt my hands getting much warmer than usual as my siblings kept talking about him.

"Di Angelo's gay? Doesn't surprise me."

"Ha gay!" A slightly older boy next to me shouted at Nico. I think his name was Max, I'm not sure. I resisted the urge to stand up and beat the schist out of him. I looked over at Nico and saw he had tears running down his cheeks. Other campers started to join in, calling Nico a fag and saying that maybe he should've just stayed in the underworld. Eventually I couldn't contain my anger any longer. I stood up on the table, stepping on Max's food on purpose. I let the my hands burst into flames as I looked around at everyone.

"Everyone just stop!" I yelled. "Nico just died and you are all calling him names and telling him to go die again. The kids been through a lot and none of you are even going to say 'Hey Nico, glad you aren't dead.' Your not going to say that because your all to focused on the fact that maybe he is gay. Well guess what? You are all bitches. Oh and by the way, I'm bisexual so if you all want someone to make fun of, make fun of me because I don't care." With that I jumped off the table. Nico wasn't there anymore so I stormed off to his cabin.

Nico's POV

Everyone had looked at me like I should still be dead. Then somehow they found out I was gay and started calling me a fag and a stupid gay. After a few minutes of that Leo had gotten up onto his table and started saying something, but I left before I heard what he was saying. I told my dad I didn't want to live anymore. I sat in the corner of my cabin in a small ball, crying uncontrollably.

I heard my cabin door open, but I didn't look up to see who came in.

"I am done. I can't do this anymore." I sobbed.

"You aren't going to go through this alone Nico." I heard a male voice say, it was Leo.

"Leo I can't take it anymore!" I was crying even more now. He came over to me and craddled me on his lap.

"I wont let anyone hurt you Nico. If anyone says anything rude to you I will make their life living hell." Leo whispered in my ear.

"How did they all find out that I'm g-gay?" I asked.

"I guess someone knew about me asking you out, though they didn't know it was me, and they started talking about it." He whispered. I could tell he was angry, very angry.

"The reason I said n-no is because of them. Because I knew they would say rude things, and I didn't want you to get hurt."

"Don't worry about me getting hurt."

"I didn't want to have a secret relationship though. I didn't want to have to hide behind cabin doors to have a relationship with you."

"Secret relationships are much better in my opinion. It's a secret that only you and I would know about, that makes it much better." I smiled a little. Leo starting humming a song.

"Sing the song please." I whispered as I rested my head on his shoulder. He started singing.

When you try your best but you don't succeed. When you get what you want and not what you need. When you feel so tired but you can't sleep, stuck in reverse.

And the tears come streaming down your face, when you lose something you can't replace. When you love someone but it goes to waste, could it be worse?

"Your beautiful." I whispered once he finished singing. He chuckled.

"Not as beautiful as you Nico." He said. I blushed a little. "Nico di Angelo, will you please be my boyfriend?" Leo whispered in my ear.

"Of course I will Leo Valdez." I whispered back before kissing him. He smiled into the kiss.

As terrified as I was about the camp finding out about me and Leo, I still love him no matter what happens.
