Miranda's pov
Our faces are all over the news. We were hiding out in an abandoned apartment complex. Jason was on the phone. No idea who he was talking to. "I just need a place man. For a couple days." I barely hear the muffled male voice on the other end. "It's a felony to house a wanted criminal!" "I'M NOT A CRIMINAL!!!" He yells then throws his phone. I gasp in surprise and worry. "Jason! Calm down!" I gasp worriedly grabbing his hand. "I can't stand people calling me a freaking criminal! I ain't a criminal!" "I don't care what they think. They don't know you like I do! I know the truth and so do you! That's all that should matter!" I gasp, grabbing his other hand. "What are we gonna do?" He whispers. "I don't care what we do. I just can't lose you." "You won't. I promise. I love you." "I love you too." I say hugging him tight. "We're fine here for the night. We'll figure our next move out tomorrow. Let's just get some rest." He sighs, staring at me sadly. "I'm so sorry... We... Cause a me... You're livin' in this rundown... Piece of shit!" I force a smile. "I don't care where I am as long as I'm ridin' with you. I'm your ride or die girl." He smiles. "How'd I get so damn lucky."
*Later*
Jason's pov
I wake up hearing screaming. I jolt awake terrified they found us. "No! You can't make me!" Miranda screams in her sleep. "Baby!" I gasp, grabbing her shoulders. "Honey wake up! You're dreaming!" "I hate you!" She yells in her sleep. I shake her awake. She starts to cry. "Oh Jason thank God!" I hug her tight. "It's okay. It was just a bad dream!" "I.. I th-thought I was b-back... Th-There." She whimpers, her voice muffled since her head is buried in my chest. I rub her back. "You'll never go back there babe. I promise."
*The next day*
She's really shaken up after that nightmare last night. I've got to do something to get some money. "Jason, I'm hungry." "Me too." I say nervous. I'm flat out broke. "I can't go in any places. They'll recognize me." "What if I wear a hat and a heavy jacket?" She asks. "I still don't have any money." I nervously say. "We can steal stuff." "We're going to have to. Do you think you can pull it off? Cause if they find you out..." I let my voice trail off, not wanting to scare her or make her relive that nightmare she had. "I can do it." I hug her tight. "I'm so sorry I got you into such a mess. One day I will get us out. We'll live normal happy lives." She looks up at me with a smile on her pretty face. "I am happy." She says squeezing my hand. I smile. "You're a wonderful mystery." I say kissing her forehead. I'm a lucky dude.
