Myra

I was searching everywhere for the basement, seriously, finding the basement is way easier said than done, especially in a ginormous castle! Yiniri didn't tour me to a basement now did she? Ugh, wrong timing!

I have gone past hundreds upon hundreds of doors now and have opened every single one! Yet I still can't find this stupid basement! As I was frantically running I suddenly subconsciously looked to my right and paused.

Is that... is that a map of the castle? I stepped closer to take a better look at it.

It is a map, it has a very detailed architecture, it basically shows all rooms in all hallways in all floors! My mind is gonna spin like crazy any moment from now! Hmm... basement, basement, basement. Where is it? I cannot find it!

"Myra?"

I looked to my back, "Hm?"

"What are you frolicking there about?"

"Uhh, nothing! I wasn't doing anything Tenorrha!" I said awkwardly. Wait, I accidentally shouted at her! Ugh, Wrong timing... again!

"Sure sure, you seem to be in a hurry, what's the rush?" Tenorrha looked to the map. "Are you finding some place in the castle?"

I didn't know what to say at this moment so I paused for a while. Like, a WHILE.

"I take that as a yes?' Tenorrha said, amused at my awkward expression.

"Uhh, I was actually looking for the basement!" Shoot, I blew my cover! Oh well, I'll just tell the truth. "In hopes of finding you because-" I got cut off

"Because..?" Tenorrha impatiently asked.

"Because... uhh, there are... foreign invaders attacking o-outside..!" I stuttered.

Tenorrha looked at me with her poker face then suddenly her mouth twitched upwards and she started laughing, "Ahahahahahaha! You cannot be serious! Have you forgotten of the barrier that separates us? No one can possibly break through that with their lives!" She continued laughing.

I sighed, "Tenorrha... I am dead serious right now. Yiniri needs you in the battlefront, a ton of invaders, based from incident reports, are waging war with them!"

Tenorrha looked at me all of a sudden, "Hmm... you do seem serious," Tenorrha walked past me, "Are you gonna come with me or just stay here gawking at the castle map?" She added as she noticed that I wasn't planning on moving an inch from where I stood.

I quickly ran up to her and...

PZZZT!

Ouch! Did I just trip my foot!? How embarrassing, thank goodness Tenorrha was in front of me!

She giggled, "Are you okay? Did your head hit the floor..?"

"Uhh, I'm fine, thanks." She noticed!? Ugh, Wrong timing!

We now approached the entrance , or in this case scenario, the exit to the underwater paradise.

I put my hands over my eyes and looked up, "I take to it that wars happen above the cliff?"

"I guess, I can't really judge for sure because this has never happened before and we never expected it to happen." Tenorrha answered.

I quickly breathed. Inhale. Exhale. "Uhm, Tenorrha, I think it would be best for me to stay here... given that I am not that much of a fighter such as you guys."

She gave me an impassive look, "Yes, you shall stay here in the palace." she reluctantly said.

I nodded.

Then, she spun her hands around each other, making a helicopter.

I just stood there with ambivalent emotions. Amazement. Confusion. Disbelief.

"Alright, this should be set," Tenorrha powered it up and she ascended slowly, and then she looked back at me. "Be careful Myra, don't forget that you have me and Yiniri by your side."

Myra

I think she winked as she said that; but what could I know? She was approximately already a few kilometers above the surface so seeing her face is a challenge in itself.

I decided to go back inside the water dome. I wasn't gonna sit here and do nothing! I need to do something relevant, not to the current war situation but to myself. But what could I possibly do..?

Oh! I know! I think I am going to examine the vacant corals... just in case I am tasked to live there temporalily, I want to get an idea of how it is interiorally constructed.

This place really is beyond my imagination. It looks like a revised version of coral reefs I only see in pictures. In fairness, this is another world... I think, so I am basically in a world of greater interiors and exteriors. NO! A world of new adventures!

I swam around the aqua globe and examined all corals. There were brain corals, sea anemones, sponges, and lots more variety of corals I don't know the exact name of.

I was about to go back to the entrance when I saw someone entering the aquamarine dome... the person was quite faraway from me so I wasn't able to see properly who it was.

Instinctively, I hid behind a sponge and decided to watch things from afar... the figure came closer... and closer... and closer... when I suddenly realized what it was.

A Merman!?
