Chapter six

Still trying to find the right shade of orange colour veil to go with my skirt and blouse then realising the mistake i made by trusting faridah's judgement when she assured me that it would go with my attire when we went shopping last week and me being me just kept the veil in my wardrobe without confirming it,so I gave up and decided to use the one i have then i  decided to go with a light makeup by applying khol and lip gloss with light brush of powder which enhanced my eyes and made them  pop out due to the contrast in colour, so I went downstairs and saw my mum busy as usual in the kitchen with the maid helping her as i greeted and she replied, then assuring me that the breakfast would be ready soon, am sorry mum but i can't wait, i already promised sadia that i will be at her house before eight, OK she said dejectedly she always does that when i leave home without having my breakfast, so i reassure her by promising her that i would eat when I gets to the bride's house.
Meena my mum called me before i was able to exit the house so i turned , yes mum i said rolling my eyes because i  knew what she was about to say  she continued your dad told me about the proposal ,since you are about going out already maybe we could talk mother to daughter when you get back,
ok mom i replied as i clutched on to my purse and headed to where  my car was pack and drove to the my friend's house.

I reached sadia's house fifteen minutes later and was looking for where to pack because the place was a bit crowded with vehicles but what did you expect from a Nigerian wedding its part of perks of being a Nigerian, after so much hassling i found a spot, so i  picked up the gifts that i got my friend and was waddling my way through the crowd as i entered the house and was walking towards the spiral staircase that led to sadia's room  I was  just a few steps away from her door when  my phone began ringing and i was busy trying to retrieve my phone when i collided with a wall which resulted in  my gifts crumpling over each other and i held my breadth wishing the bag that contains the Victoria's secret undergarments wouldn't spill out, and that was what happened so i scurried to get it back to avoid embarrassment when i realized that the wall was actually a man and  he was busy on a call,so i quickly bent down to pick up the lingerie that was just at his feet, after putting it back hastily so I stood up to offer him an apology, but what came out of my mouth was a gasp of surprise it was no one other than Amir, the expression i saw on his face was what made me  took a step back, it was a look that i was familiar with which I always received from my father when i messed up big time, a look of utter disappointment its broke my already shattered heart into a million pieces, am sorry i whispered I continue to walk through the hallway that lead me to the room where the bride and the bridesmaid where, but was halted by his voice telling to wait as he gave me a wrapped present to give to the bride ,
courtesy of the groom, please always ensure you dress decently,cover your hair at least, there is dignity in decency he chipped in as he strode off, to say I was embarrassed would have been an understatement I was so mortified as I wore back  my veil which I had no idea when it slipped off then wiped off my tears so as to not leave any signs of tears on my face as I practiced a smile to put on, after getting a decent one  I entered my friend's room  and saw her being adorned by the beautician, she look so beautiful and worried at the same time as she was busy tapping on her phone so i  hugged  her from behind and took the phone from her, hey give it back to me she pleaded  no way a bride is supposed to be relaxed and do nothing but to look beautiful for her hubby I said as i gave her a big hug from the back,
hey, you gave me a fright as she put her hand on her chest, I called you multiple times without you picking up, I was about to organize a search party for you she said I just wave her off knowing her to be the drama queen, this is for you I handed the wrapped gift, as I told her the bearer of the gift and she smiled and immediately I could see a her blushing , open it chorused the other bridesmaids has they entered the room and saw the gifts, so she opened it and found  a letter with a rose on it aww all of us chorused that's so romantic as the sadeeya smiled and I could see tears in her eyes too, she looked so happy and everyone could see love evident in her eyes as she opened the letter and started reading.
