Pass me the oats, i told mairo, my maid courtesy of my mum that insisted I had to have an helping hand.
Which to my surprise he never objected, I was expecting him to refuse mama when she came to pay us a surprise visit, last week .

Bring me the tray and get me some sweeteners along with some lime for his tea. I told her, while i went to the cabinet fishing for the silverware.

Hurry up, and give me those before my effort goes in vain if he ended up not having his food before leaving for work. I said as I wipe a bead of perspiration that had begun forming on my face, due to how stuffy the kitchen had become.

I grunted has I realised that I forgot to put on the smoke detector since I began cooking .

I was setting up the food at the dinner table when I heard footsteps from the stairs, I looked up and his feet emerged first has he came down looking so fresh and crisp in his bespoke suit, and I blushed instantly just by his good looks.

As i continued with the arrangement i saw my reflection staring back at me with my face flushed and my cheeks had already turned beetroot red with the heat and me blushing earlier this was the part where I wish I wasn't team light skinned at least I would have been able to blush with no one detecting.

Good morning ,I offered has he replied by nodding before he grabbed the thermostat for his early morning beverage. I sat down by his side dishing out the fries he always insisted on having every morning with some scrambled eggs.

We both ate in silence only the sound of the cutleries where being heard as we began eating with his attention trading back and forth from his food to the newspaper.

We where midway into our breakfast when I mustered the courage to ask him money for groceries has i noticed that the fridges and the pantry were almost bare, with influx of guest we received which had taken a toll on our food supply.

I need money for groceries, to do the monthly shopping I asked my voice coming out in a whisper even though I intended it to come out a little bolder, it wasn't as if i was asking embarking on a shopping spree.

He continued munching on his food and i thought he didn't hear me because his gaze hadn't left the newspaper he had been reading, so i stood up to clear the dishes when he spoke, but what he said brought instant tears brimming in my eyes as I tried my best to get a grip on my self.

Trying my best not to breakdown in front of him, it wasn't my fault that am so emotional at times and I tend to tear up at any given time. It was the clearing of his voice that brought me out of trance as i tried my best to recall what made me mushy in the first place.

Jumbo, he asked why i love leaving things half way, i thought you where busy as i saw that you where so engrossed with the news so I decided to send you a message later in the day, i replied giving my self an imaginary high five with the comeback i gave him.

Fine, how much do you need he questioned fishing out his phone from his pocket as he stood up to leave for work.

A hundred and fifty thousand naira i replied looking at everywhere but him, is this how wife's feel when asking for allowance from their spouse or just me because I was trying to fix what i broke my self, either way it was still an awkward feeling.

I heard the sound of an incoming message growling inside for the network to stop sending messages that weren't useful and fill up our memory space.

I was surprised when he started leaving without putting an end to the conversation but decided to leave it has we are still treading on broken glass, so i saw him off and gave him is briefcase that i was holding and our hands grazes each other sending tingles through out my body as i became a jumble of nerves just by the touch, and he seems so relaxed and i wonder whether he felt those or it was just i who was desperate for attention.
