Did you see her sitting there in the window?
Did you hear her cries for help?
Did you feel your body shake?
Did you touch her freezing hand when she was taken?
Did you taste the salted tears fresh from your eyes?
No, you didn't.
Because you didn't care for her at all.
You were her rock, her shoulder to lean on when she needed it.
But then you left.
Washed away like footprints on the beach.
No trace of you was found when she went looking.
You didn't know what she was doing to herself.
Scraping,
Starving,
Crying,
Then dying.
You weren't there when she fell,
Taken away by people in white.
You didn't show up to the hospital.
Because you 'were busy'
When you heard she couldn't be saved.
You never cried.
You forgot about her.
You never came to the funeral.
Because you never cared for her.
You could've saved her.
But you didn't.
Because
You
Didn't
Care.
