"Leo! Shut up!" Annabeth hissed.
Eight teenagers were sitting in the van, driving on a rainy road in Florida. They were looking to go hiking, but it was pouring and they got lost.
"I'm just joking!" Leo exclaimed, putting his hands up in surrender.
"Listen to the girl. She'll kick your ass if you don't." Thalia warned.
"I know she will!" Leo exclaimed. "But this is exactly like that book I read!"
"You can read?" Piper asked bluntly, looking over at the overly hyper Latino Elf.
Leo huffed and stuck his tongue out at her. "You're just jealous!"
Piper blinked. "Of what?"
"Stop bickering you two, I'm about ready to blow a fuse!" Hazel snapped, then smiled sweetly at everyone. "Please."
"Uh-oh, sweetie pie Hazel's gonna go cray-cray on us!" Leo yelped. "Run!"
"Never call her that again for I'll leave you stranded on the side of this road." Frank threatened.
Leo put his hands up in surrender. "Just saying, this is really sketchy. Same part of town, same-"
"We aren't in a town Valdez, now shut up and sit your butt down!" Nico snapped. "Now, if you'd all be quiet, I might be able to listen to my music."
"Uh-uh, no electronics on this trip!" Jason said, snatching his phone and headphones from him.
"Excuse me!? Jason Grace give me my headphones or I'll go insa- Dude, you just said no electronics!" Nico yelled. "you can't just steal mine because you forgot yours!"
Nico's black headphones were fit over Jason's ears, who was wrinkling his nose. He took off the headphones and threw them at Nico, then handed him his phone. "What the heck do you listen to?!"
Nico huffed. "Good music." He said before pulling the headphones back on. Jason rolled his eyes and looked out of the tiny windows of the van.
"Where are we though? For real?" Thalia asked. Annabeth made a low growling noise in her throat.
"That's what I've been trying to tell you! I don't know!" She growled.
Leo let out a small shriek as there was a fork in the road. "He's going to be right there!" He exclaimed, pointing at the corner in front of them. It was almost pitch black out, which only freaked him out more.
Annabeth slowed to a stop just before she got to the fork. "Where's the map?" She asked.
Thalia looked in the pouch behind the seat. "Not here."
Everyone looked everywhere, but it was nowhere to be found. "Ugh, we'll just have to-"
She was cut off my Leo's sharp intake of breath. "he's right there! I told you! The maps are gone, it's rainy, that's the guy!"
"I don't see-" Annabeth cut herself off when she actually did see him. "Leo..." She said shakily. "This better not be a prank..."
Leo, however, looked terrified. And he wasn't a good actor. Ask the play directors at their school.
"We have to get out. We can't run. We can't try to drive past him." Leo muttered as he opened the door. "Or we'll be dead."
