"I'm-"
Camila took another deep breathe before looking into Lauren's eyes. She was gonna miss being able to see them in person, and being able to see Lauren herself. "I'm being relocated." Camila whispered with such sadness that it physically hurt Lauren's heart to hear those words."W-what?" Lauren said running a hand through her hair in an attempt to calm her increasing heart rate and heart break. "I just got the confirmation a few minutes ago, i'm being relocated to Los Angeles. Another section of my uncle's company is being placed there and he wants me to be in charge of it. It's an amazing offer that...I can't refuse." Camila said hoping Lauren would understand.
"So that's it? You're just gonna..leave?" Lauren said, her voice cracking as a few tears slipped out, and Camila wiped a few of them away. "This doesn't change the way I feel about you. But I do think some space would do us some good. I don't know about you but, being around you right now is, and don't take this the wrong way, but painful." Camila said and Lauren nodded in understanding.
"It is. I just didn't think this would happen." Lauren whispered looking down at her hands. She looked at Camila, wondering exactly how much time she had left to do so. "When are you leaving?" Lauren asked. "Friday." Camila replied. "Oh." Lauren said, she couldn't believe Camila was leaving in only 2 days. "I'm sorry. It wasn't a sure thing yet, he had been mentioning it recently but, I just didn't know it would be so sudden." Camila said and Lauren shrugged her shoulders.
"You leave Friday, and Prom is Saturday. Both days will be miserable." Lauren muttered and Camila rubbed her shoulder comfortingly. "I'll always be one call away, i'll never be too busy for you." Camila said. "You promise?" Lauren asked sticking out her pinky. Camila smiled down at Lauren's finger before intertwining her pinky with Lauren's. "I promise."
"I know we didn't work out but you didn't have to run away." Lauren joked while sniffling and Camila gave her a sad smile. "I didn't think we'd be here." Camila replied. "So, he offered you the job?" Lauren asked for clarification. "Yes, and I thought it wasn't a bad idea at the moment since, we weren't on good terms and seeing you everyday would be heart breaking." Camila explained.
"I understand. Maybe this will be a good thing." Lauren said and Camila turned her head a little with a hint of a smile. "It gives us time and certainly a lot of space to figure out what we wanna do from here." Lauren said and Camila nodded her head silently listening while her eyes dropped down to Lauren lips briefly on multiple instances.
"You've grown up so much Lauren. I'm proud." Camila said with a soft smile. "And i'm proud of you, and i'll always be rooting for you. Right here in Miami is your number one fan." Lauren said and Camila pulled her into a warm embrace. "Thank you for being understanding." Camila said holding Lauren's hands softly while looking into her eyes.
Lauren let go of one of Camila's hands and snaked her own down to Camila's waist, pulling her closer. "I love you." Lauren said and Camila smiled as a single tear cascaded down her face. "I love you too." Camila whispered. Lauren closed the gap between them by placing a soft, lingering kiss on Camila's lips as the bell rang. Camila sighed as Lauren's comforting hands dropped from her face.
"Bye Camila." Lauren said grabbing her stuff and sending Camila a smile which she quickly returned rummaging through her desk, preparing for the next class.
Lauren walked into 3rd period, not ready at all to be there. As she walked in Brad nodded at her as she sat next to him at the table. "Where's Ms.Ivery?" She asked. "I think we have a sub." Brad said throwing Lauren a look. "Why'd you say it like that?" Lauren asked. "Nothing no reason, just don't be too disappointed. It's not your favorite one." Brad said and Lauren was beyond confused. "What's that supposed to mean?" She asked as Lucy sat down across from her.
