Shay

It's interesting what you can learn about a person if you just pay attention. For instance, I learned that the hussy's name was Zuri Genesis Childs just by doing a little light social media stalking once I figured out her schedule and where she worked. When I followed her home, I learned she had kids; four-year-old twins.

I was surprised to find that she lived in a beautiful two-story house in a middle-class neighborhood. I half expected her to live in some basic ass apartments and try to use my dad as a come up. But she had a nice house, drove a nice vehicle and had a job.

On the surface she seemed dedicated to her kids. She drove them to school in the mornings, played with them in the evening and even seemed to have a good relationship with their father and his girlfriend. I learned their names were Kai and Miranda. Miranda worked at the same elementary school they attended.

How very modern of them.

The dad even came over in the mornings. I guess he was helping get them ready for school or something. No matter what he was doing, they looked like a happy little family every time he walked them all to the car, buckled up the kids and kissed them all goodbye; including his baby mama.

It seems like as soon as I took an interest in her she stopped seeing my dad. Instead she started working longer hours. And I noticed how she dressed for work even changed. At first, she wore jeans or cargo pants, boots and a work shirt. She transitioned into slacks and more polo style shirts; she looked more professional.

I followed her on her route one time. After that one time she stopped driving routes and spent her days at her job. It was a challenge working out of my car just so that I could watch her, but I was determined to learn the extent of their relationship.

My dad was still distracted. He seemed to get even more distracted in the days between seeing her. He waited almost a week before he saw her again because of his business trip. He was making his way back towards home, but he was still out of town.

I was on the phone with him while he drove to another location when he got another call. I was sitting in my car watching Zuri sit outside of the same coffeehouse they met at before and call him.

He put me on hold to answer the call and then rushed me off the phone when he got back on the phone with me. It wasn't inherently rude, but I could tell he was anxious, so I assumed it had something to do with the call or work since he was a few towns over.

Imagine my surprise when I saw him show up to the coffeehouse. He even brought some work folders with him as if he'd walked right out of a meeting to see her. They sat at a table side by side and talked for a while. I guess she asked about the folders because I watched them talk and laugh as he opened our company's business to her.

I knew it was jealousy coursing through my veins, but I didn't care. He'd driven out of his way to see her and probably cancelled meetings to do it. She had no right to know the inner workings of our family business.

They sat looking over those papers for nearly an hour as they drank coffee and ate pastries. I was disgusted. It wasn't enough for her to come into my parents' marriage, she wanted the business too.

-----------------------

It was ironic to me that she was working her hardest to destroy my family while being so close to her baby daddy's family; the Carters. Other than her baby daddy Kai and Miranda, I figured out the guy that brought pizza for dinner one Wednesday was her baby daddy's older brother Ace.

When she wasn't being a little homewrecker and meeting up with my dad for her lunch hour she was having lunch with him and Kai. Sometimes they ate at the diner where Ace worked and other times they ate off the food truck Kai drove. But her love of that family didn't stop there.
