"Excuse me...Leon?"

"Deepthi?"

"It is you! I wasn't sure, it's been a few years."

"A few is the understatement of the century. It's been fifteen years. Come on, let's grab a table. We probably will be here for a while, and I can't do it on an empty stomach."

"As much as things between us got a little intense, our opinions on food have always been similar. Amen to that, Leon."

"It's so hard to believe that we...Well. We did all of that stuff so long ago. We're both married, with kids! That's...Well, I know I never thought I'd get here. Married. With kids. Sitting with the woman I...Well. We don't need to relive the past."

"That's true, but I completely understand how you feel. The first year or so after I left, was...Very hard. For the first year, I lost contact with everyone in my family."

"That's terrible."

"Yeah...But it's okay! I eventually got a new job, got back in touch with them. Got re-involved with church and met Nithan."

"Nithan?"

"My husband."

"Ah. Must be one hell of a guy."

"Well, your wife must be some hell of a lady."

"Yeah, it was actually Lilly who introduced us. She was walking her dog at the park, I was taking a walk with Lilly, and bam. Lilly loves dogs."

"She must, since her father is a- I'm kidding, I'm kidding."

"Hey! Well, you aren't lying. I was a bit of an ass back in the day, but Alice has changed me for the better."

"Mm, well I don't think I was much better. There's no excuse for the things I said to you."

"And for what I said to you."

"Well...Look at us now! We made it."

"We did make it. You made the right call."

"I...I think I did. I'm glad Lilly gave me that call."

"I'm glad she did too. She's following in my footsteps, working for the ol' Tech Support line."

"Really? Can't believe Wattpad has lasted so long, honestly."

"I didn't think it would, but I guess it surprised all of us."

"Hopefully she doesn't follow in our footsteps."

"Well...I'm actually going to take her to meet a Wattpad guy tomorrow. He's legit, don't worry. I made sure."

"A Wattpad guy? What's his username? Wait, what's Lilly's username?"

"Lilly? She's LillyDaHottie ."

"Leon. You did not."

"I so did."

"Oh my gosh..."

*laugh*

"And the guy she's meeting, he's ProcrastinationHD ."

"Maybe we should log into our accounts. I haven't logged back in since we stopped talking..."

"Well, maybe it's time that we both reentered each other's stories. As friends. The kind of friends who find each other, no matter what."

"The kind of friends who stick together, instead of running."

and indeed, they reunited, and they found that sometimes it isn't the romantic love that keeps people together.

sometimes, friendship is just as powerful as romance. if not more so.
