"Lila I'm almost afraid to ask how you're so god damn good at this."

The surgeon gave a knowing smile and chuckled, running her fingertips up and down my torso. She was resting her cheek in the palm of her free hand, watching me with bed eyes while my head rested back on the pillow.

"I just have a natural talent with my hands," she whispered, leaning in to kiss me tenderly.

I returned the kiss with gratitude, one hand on the back of her neck pulling her closer to me. The skin on skin contact was something that always made me feel on fire. There were no dull moments with her, that was something I was sure of. Every moment with her felt so right.

"Congratulations, Logan. You girls played your hearts out," Lila said, getting up from the bed to pour a glass of the champagne she opened earlier.

"I'm definitely gonna feel it in the morning," I mumbled, sitting up.

"Well that tends to happen when you get trampled by a girl the size of a bull."

I laughed before taking a swig from the glass she handed to me as she sat back down next to me. The TV was quietly playing an episode of American Dad that I was watching absentmindedly as we sat in comfortable silence. With my glass finished, I rested my head on her shoulder and let out a content sigh.

"So when is your sister's fashion show?"

"Tomorrow night. Is it bad that I spent the entire drive here trying to come up with a way out of it?"

"Well from what you've told me about your family, it doesn't surprise me," I chuckled.

"It's the after party that makes it worth it I suppose."

I glanced at her, remembering how close Lilith had gotten to her to the other day. There was no reason to worry though, or at least that's what I told myself. I had had to trust her; but that brought the thought back that what we had didn't even really have a label. It wasn't official so I didn't really have much room to be jealous anyway...

"What's wrong?"

"Hmm?"

"You zoned out there for a second," Lila said, raising an eyebrow at me.

"Oh, nothing. Just thinking."

The surgeon looked like she wanted to say more but thought better of it. Trying to get around the suddenly awkward silence I looked at my phone. Seeing the time made me jump up and start pulling my clothes on.

"Shit, my coach is gonna pissed. He does a room check to make sure none of us snuck out of our rooms," I rambled, tripping when I put my foot in my pant leg.

Lila had stood up, catching me before I could hit the ground. Giving me that famous smirk she held me upright then pulled my shirt over my head for me. I was caught completely off guard when she pressed a gentle kiss to my forehead.

"Have a safe trip back home, Logan. I'll text you in the morning?"

"O-Okay. You too," I said with a soft smile and a kiss to her soft lips.

I left her room and started making the walk back to my own room. I was flipping through pictures on the school's Instagram account, smiling at the one of the whole team holding up the trophy and grinning at the one of Mari hugging me after the game winning goal. A door opened ahead of me and out stepped my sister. I stopped in my tracks and watched in confusion as she smiled over her shoulder before walking off down the hall.

I jumped back around the corner when I saw my coach halfway out of the room she had just left. Was she... no, there was no way she was seeing our coach. Then the realization hit me like a truck; her sudden bump up to varsity even though there were at least two other girls ahead of her for the spot. The weird behavior and her being gone even more than I was. So I wasn't the only one with a secret...
