"That idea sounds dangerous and moronic," Johan stated as he eyed Jack carefully. "We don't know those people's capabilities, or if they'll even help after being bested. They might have moved places once they realized Ethan escaped. We might waste supplies for nothing. And we've even had this discussion when Ethan first arrived, and they were in the middle of improving their defenses when he left, so it's even more unclear. Although we the community didn't want to go after scientists in the first place because we were more concerned about..." Johan shot Mark a look.

"Never mind. Not to mention we can't leave this base completely empty aside from Yazzy and Mark, and maybe a few others. By dividing our people in half maybe it would work. But I still feel that would leave us short enough in numbers to make a difference."

Jack stared at the floor as he was being talked to, debating on all that was going on; in his head but more importantly in the world. How had these scientists gotten away with this type of epidemic? Was it hidden by the government, or were they more advanced than any higher power could have ever imagined? Was the government still even standing especially with this so-called massive anti-government community around, or was all of that a lie; or had they changed?

Johan cleared his throat to capture the Irishman's attention once more. "Got any ideas on how to fix some of these potholes?"

Jack sucked in a deep breath to mentally prepare himself for more berating. He had been sitting on this idea for a while, just as an excuse to see an old friend again... "Well, there's some people I know who are friendly and have helped me before. There aren't a whole lot of them but, maybe it will still make a difference. The problem is they have kids too, so they'd need to be sheltered here..."

Johan raised an eyebrow. "Of course we'd let the children stay here."

"And they have a home to take care of, so..."

"They won't be required to stay if they do come."

Jack nodded. "Then maybe, they can help?"

Johan sighed softly and leaned back in his chair to ponder. "...Where are they located?"

"Brighton, UK."

Apparently it was easy for rich people to just have their own planes and jets, so a few weeks after preparation, the small community was finally ready to go face the source of the problem, the reason behind the epidemic. They planned it out as a surprise attack in waves; almost like a video game.

There was an entire list of volunteers willing to go, but all decided that Jack (with Ethan's directions) would be the first to talk to the researchers because of it being his idea. The rest of the group would set up camp in a safe area, and wait for a signal or a certain time for Jack to speak to the researchers. If they turned him away or captured him, the first official wave of people that were set up closer to stand watch- consisting of Sebastian who insisted to go, Ethan who was forced to go because only he knew the way there, and almost twenty others- would come out of the shadows.

If there was still a struggle, and they could see no signal of gunfire stopping any time soon or it had ominously stopped but no one returning, the second wave of thirty people would join. Then finally the third wave of forty, not including hopefully the backup that Jack requested, leading up to a total of around ninety people, the last wave mostly having the trained gunmen and loyal guards of Johan to hopefully pick off the last of them or intimidate them into submission.

Not surprisingly, they had gone on raids with bigger groups than this and every person was chosen carefully by Johan himself for the job, so it wasn't a fear of one going rogue and choosing to run off and escape. The most prominent concern was that this was the longest trip ever taken so it wasn't easy for them to figure out just how many supplies they needed, and also how they would act if their trip was all for nothing; to leave empty handed but waste so much. Despite Johan being confident in his people's loyalty (which was already questionable in Jack's opinion), Johan still wasn't sure if they would be fit enough to accept the waste and not attempt to hurt someone or themselves.
