Almost no one had any type of warning. Most people that weren't immediately thrown into the devastation, could soon hear the screams of the endangered and horrified before the wailing of a siren even sounded off, but the anguished cries still weren't enough for them to realize something was catastrophically wrong, until it was too late.
It was no surprise that the hospital staff and the police were the first to realize something big was happening when hundreds of calls, soon turned to thousands, were made throughout the world about the same thing.
For others, they were unaware at first that they were witnessing a widespread plague of some sort (even though this wasn't even anything like a normal plague). Once panic spread and people began to leave their homes and onto the streets, that's when they realized the problems were not just in their own households.
There were hundreds of humans, ripped of clothing and racing down the roads with their mouths dripping of saliva and blood. They looked crazed and terrifying, and chased after their fellow man on all four like a wild animal. For some who lived in sparse neighborhoods, it took a little longer to notice what was happening, but even they too began to see the effects after some time, either in their family or themselves.
It wasn't hard for everyone to point the finger at someone else, a different country or so, or to claim apocalypse- but even then the people still had no clue what was happening or why. And all within one day, almost half of the population of humans had changed into violent creatures, without reason. It was as if a light switch had been flicked inside of them.
Sean or Jack McLoughlin, also known as Jacksepticeye on YouTube, was one of those that hadn't immediately realized what was happening in the world. He awoke like any normal person on any normal day, unaware that his life was about to change forever.
Jack hobbled to his computer sleepily and almost immediately to check YouTube, while also unplugging his phone to see if anyone had texted him while he was sleeping. He had no notifications which struck him as odd, but he didn't think anything of it. He did frown though when he noticed his fan wasn't blowing, and his phone was on low battery despite the fact that he had it charging all night. When he tried to turn on his computer, it completely failed.
Damn, is the power out? Jack thought as he nervously scratched his beard. This had never happened before, but he also knew where he lived wasn't a perfect and safe dome, and power outages were a normal thing to everyone. He walked out of his room to look for his girlfriend Signe, but couldn't find a trace of her either; her shoes, purse, and jacket were gone. This also bothered him, but he took a deep breath and shook it off. It was too early in the morning to freak out, and despite the fact that Signe had never just left before, he assumed it was for a good reason. Maybe there was an emergency with one of her friends.
So instead of worrying about it and not wanting to waste precious battery on his phone, Jack threw his phone onto the bed and decided, after showering in cold water, to tidy the place up while he waited for either Signe or the power to come back.
There weren't any neighbors around him to make a ruckus which was always nice for him, so he continued to lack any knowledge that something was wrong, from lack of screams that could be heard in other parts of the world. It stayed this way for a while, until Jack finally became frustrated with his friends ignoring him after hours on end, and got onto his dying phone finally.
Jack sent a text to the people he normally talked to, including Robin, Felix, Ethan, Mark, etc. When he didn't get a reply from them for another hour and his phone was on critically low, he decided to check the one place he knew he would get answers from: YouTube. If all of his friends were simply ignoring him, he would be able to tell just from their schedules continuing normally.
