12:25pm
Victoria, or as we commonly known her as Jane Doe, heard her friends talking about her before she even reached them. She lingered in the corner, feet and arms crossed as she listened to their conversation.
"Polly, are you sure Victoria is coming? We've been waiting here for like, an hour!" her brunette friend, Sally, said. Her voice sounded irritated and Victoria could not help but roll her eyes.
She was not even late. Polly, the raven-haired like her, told her that they would be meeting up at Buckbeans Cafe at one in the afternoon. She was way beyond early, that was for sure.
She watched them argued. High voices could be heard and she shook her head.
"I told her to meet us at one. It's still early," Polly replied nonchalantly.
"I don't even know why you still have to invite her. It's not like we're still friends anyway," Cindy, the bitchiest of the three, exclaimed. She was the typical blonde that everyone loves. An hour glass figure, a size 1, those straight blonde hair that everyone seems to be entranced.
Polly's shoulder slumped forward as she said in a tired voice, "I know. But we need her to help us regarding that matter, remember?"
"We don't even know if she actually has the connections we need."
Laughing sarcastically, Cindy flicked her hair off her shoulder. "And you know how jealous she is that I have a boyfriend who has the face, the bod, and the money. She's always been envious of me."
Sally bobbed her head up and down, desperate to show that she was on Cindy's side. Victoria faked vomited before she decided to head over them.
She glanced back at the glass wall of a nearby shop and admired her look. She was wearing a red blouse with a slight plunging neckline and the sleeves reached her wrists. It was tucked in on her cream pants that fit her figure perfectly and comfortably. She paired the outfit with cream-coloured heels. She wore her favorite butterfly necklace that dipped on her cleavage. Her short hair was extra curly and a light pink matte was resting on her lips.
She heard gasps and looked ahead to see Polly and Sally gaping at her. On the other hand, while Cindy was also shock, the annoyance she felt was visible on her face and Victoria made a happy dance in her head.
Step 1-- Success!
She walked gracefully and stopped in front of the three. She gave them a smile and greeted. "Hey, long time no see!"
It had been a year and a half since she last saw the three. She was not even interested on reuniting with them, however, to not seem rude and mean, she accepted Polly's offer two weeks ago to meet up.
She knew it was fishy and she was right. The women needed her to pull a connection to be able to gain sponsors for the expansion of the three's fashion boutique.
She had built her connections already in high school. Her best friend being one of the most eligible bachelors, say the magazines, was also a plus point since she got to be invited to those high-end parties where she built her network. Taking over her late grandparents company, she grew that network thrice as it was before.
But those facts were hard to comprehend for her friends so she was accused behind her back that she was just a jealous liar.
Cindy smiled back, being a fake was her most notable asset. Polly was the first to stop gaping and she nudged the brunette beside her.
"Oh, h-hey! How are you?" Polly started. Victoria could see Cindy at the corner of her eye checking her from head to toe and she grinned wider.
