Chapter 6 - Back off!

 

 

     Chapter 6

       Marielle Summers' POV

 

        "Marielle.. I.. I'm sorry for what happened to you in the pa-" I put my index finger on his lips. " No BEN, I don't want to talk about it.." I say as I remove my finger from his lips.

       I do not want to bump into him again. I thought as we were looking around, I saw two familiar women not to far from us. One, was my auntie and the other was her daughter, my cousin. I felt envious of her, she's lucky to still have her mother with her. I wondered how it would feel like if my mother was with me? If my parent's have not left me. I wondered if my life would be better if they were with me. I stared at them for who-knows-how-long.

 

      "Marielle, what are you staring at?" BEN asked looking into the direction I was looking at. He snapped me back to reality. " Oh- Uh, nothing let's go.." I started walking away before tghey could even notice me.

 

        "Who were those two women you were staring at?" 

 

       "The other one is my aunt and the younger one is my cousin" I simply replied. "Oh" he mouthed "Are they like.. you Uncle? How they treat you?" He asked " I- I'm not sure.. Sometimes my cousin would help me, sometimes she would just look at me and say that I deserved being pushed around.. I don't get her at times." 

 

     "How about your aunt?"    

 

      "I can't say she was like my dad, she slapped me once when I fought with May but she usually ignore me and pretends I never exist. She only talks to me when she has to." 

 

 

       "Well I-" I look at him, telling him that he shouldn't tell anymore pity comments about it. and he nodded and shut his mouth. We went to the opposite direction of where my aunt and cousin were.

 

     I felt someone running towards me behind my back, I think BEN noticed it too because he turned around. I felt two hands on both my shoulders "Hey!" A girl's voice said, I turn to see my cousin.

 

 

        "H-hey," I awkwardly greeted and smiled. "I missed you Mary.." She said and hugged me, she pulled out and turned he attention towards BEN. "Who's this?" She said eyeing him and she then winked at BEN.  "He's BEN, my Boyfriend." I emphasized the word Boyfriend to get her to stop looking at him like that. But it didn't. Her mouth twisted into a sly smile.

 

         "Uhm we better go.." I faked a smile as I dragged BEN away from there with the cart.
