Sorry in advance if this sucks.

Stan woke up to sunlight filtering in through a window and loud banging on the bedroom door. He sat up, groggy, and looked towards the bed, where he saw Will sitting and drawing. Stan wiped his eyes to get the sleep out of them. Will looked up from his drawing, smiling as a way to say "good morning." The knocking on the door had stopped.

At first, Stan had a temporary moment of confusion, wondering where the hell he was. Then he remembered that he was in some sort of town, and was staying with Will. He also started to remember the events in his dreams last night, the painted lady chasing him relentlessly, then the shadow monster trying to reach him. The nightmare ended with IT looming over him, looking at Stan with amusement in its eyes, chuckling, "You don't know what you've walked into." before disappearing in a cloud of toxic particles. The rest after that was a blur.

Stan looked back up at Will, who had gone back to drawing once again.

"Whatcha drawing?" Stan asked, wanting to learn more about Will.

"The monster in the Upside Down," Will answered. "Drawing helps me to believe that everything happening isn't real."

"Can I see it?" Stan asked, then clarifying, "The drawing, I mean."

Will held up a piece of lined paper. On it was the hideous beast that resided in the toxic wasteland-

The Upside Down, Stanley.

The Upside Down, with telephones wires running across the middle of the page, in the exact way that it was outside of Will's house. The black clouds surrounded the monster with occasional splotches of red. All in all, the picture looked extremely realistic to the real thing.

"Accurate," Stan said, trying to give Will some satisfaction that the drawing was really good.

"Thanks, I guess." Will nodded. All of a sudden, his look goes from one of content to looking like he had just seen a ghost, or something similar.

"Will?" Stan asked, suddenly growing worried.

"What? Sorry." Will shook his head slightly, "Just blanked out."

"Was it another trip into the Upside Down?" Stan asked, standing up and sitting on Will's bed, wrapping his arm around the younger boy's shoulder to try and comfort him.

"No, not this time." Will answered, "I was just thinking."

"About what?" Stan once again asked.

"Just about last year." Will's voice started to grow hoarse with fear.

Fear.

Shit.

"Dammit," Stan muttered.

"What?" Will turned his head to look at Stan, worry in his eyes.

"My friends back home..." Stan muttered.

Go on Stan, you can trust him. You've practically been through the same stuff. You might sound crazy, but that's what it is.

Hesitantly, Stan spoke, "If I were to tell you something, you wouldn't tell anyone, right?"

"Of course." Will agreed, nodding his head.

"Back home in Derry," Stan sighed. "I know why the kids go missing."

"How do they go missing? Does it have anything to do with the Upside Down?"

"Worse."

Will shuddered. What could be worse than the Upside Down?

"There's a clown who lives in the sewers. IT feeds on your worst fears, and then eventually kills you." Stan explains. "And the bodies all float."

"Float?" Will asked, confused by Stan's words.

"You know, like, they float in the air, almost like their flying," Stan explained.

"And what does this have to do with your friends?" Will's curiosity had reached its peak.

"The clown's been trying to get us, trying to kill us. IT wants us down in the sewers, with every other 'missing' kid."

"Oh." Will said, then trying to change the conversation to a happier mood, "What are your friends like?"

"Well, there's Bill, he stutters a lot," Stan's face turns slightly red, "There's Eddie, the hypochondriac, Richie, the trash mouth, Bev, the only girl, Ben, the nerd who's overweight, and Mike, who's black and homeschooled."

"They sound nice." Will comments.

"We call ourselves the Loser's club." Stan said, "Courtesy of Henry Bowers calling us losers all the time."

"Bully?" Will asked.

"Yeah," Stan nodded his head.

There was a small silence in the air. Will went back to his drawing and Stan looked on. Red hues were added to the clouds, giving the picture an extra scary vibe. Shading was added to the ground to make it look just like the Upside Down.

A couple minutes later, a knock was heard at the door.

"Boys! Breakfast!" Will's mom yells through the door.

"Coming!" both boys yell back.

Stan stands up off Will's bed, and Will puts his drawing down on his bed, standing up and joining Stan. They both walk out of the bedroom together and into the kitchen, seeing Jonathan already sitting at the table eating the eggs and bacon that he made. Stan and Will both join him, digging into the food.

Jonathan looks up from his food, just noticing Stan.

"Who are you?" he asks.

"I'm Stan." Stan answers. "Who are you?"

"Jonathan, Will's older brother."

"Nice to meet you." Stan greets.

"You too..." Jonathan replies wearily, going back to eating.

The boys finish their breakfast as Joyce leaves to go to work.

"Bye boys! Stay safe!" she yells on her way out.

"I will!" Will yells back.

"Bye, love you!" then the slamming of a door.

"So," Jonathan starts, "Are you a friend from school?"

"No." Stan answers. "I'm from Derry, Maine."

"The place where all the kids go missing?"

"Yeah." Stan nods his head sadly.

"Why are you here?" Jonathan asks.

"Well, I, uh," Stan pauses, "Uh, I wanted to...come here for vacation."

"Lies." Jonathan replied, shocking Stan, "Why are you really here?"

"I have family ties," Stan answered, coming up with a fib on the spot.

"Okay then, with who?" Jonathan asked, pressuring Stan.

"Jonathan stop pressuring him. He's new. He's just staying here for now." Will tried to tell his brother.

"But if he had family ties, then why would he be staying with us?" Jonathan asked.

"Because they didn't have a spare room?" Stan's answer came out more like a question.

"Who's your family?" Jonathan asked.

"A girl." Stan answered, remembering one of his "visions."

"Who?"

"A girl around my age, maybe a little younger than me."

"Jonathan-"

"What's her name?"

"Jane."

Oof sorry it's short. I got lazy. Oops.
Also, this book now has a schedule. It will update every other day, so stay tuned.
And as for not posting the last two days, I was busy. I didn't have time (or good wifi)
