"Jane huh? What's your family relation?" Jonathan once again began pestering.
"She's my sister." Stan said, "We both look alike. Not identical, but defiant family resemblances."
"Jonathan, please stop," Will begged, "He's new to town. We don't want him thinking about anything negatively."
Jonathan sighed and turned to face Will. "You're right bud." he turned to face Stan, "Sorry about that. Things have happened in the past with new children randomly coming to town-" Jonathan abruptly stopped talking.
Stan's mind was working into overdrive. He remembered one of his visions - this one taking place in some endless black void - showing a girl that was indeed his sister, wearing a pink dress. Stan heard her name being said - Jane. He never thought the girl might be like him.
"What was her name?" Stan asked, desperate for answers.
"How do you know they were a girl?" Jonathan asked, growing cautious.
"Because I do," Stan answered sarcastically. "Now. What. Was. Her. Name?"
"We called her El," Will answered "Short for Eleanor."
"Looks?"
"Why are you asking questions about the girl?" Jonathan yelled. "She's not important anyway."
"Yes, she is, dipshit." Stan counters. "Now, what did she look like?"
"Mike said she had a shaved head, and that she also wore Nancy's pink dress," Will answered.
Stan couldn't help it. His eyes grew wide as his mind was quickly racing to put the pieces together. Shaved head, pink dress...just like the girl in the black void.
"Is something wrong?" Will asked. "Stan?"
"I need to go," Stan replied. He got up from the table and started walking towards the door. Jonathan followed him.
The only thing that stopped them was the TV.
It suddenly turned on, a kid's show playing on the screen. A crowd of people were on the screen. The voice coming through the TV was the indicator that something was wrong.
"And if you join us, you'll float too!" the voice said.
It sent shivers down the three boys spines. It was raspy enough to scare Will and Jonathan, but Stan recognized that voice.
That was the voice of IT.
"Join us, and you'll float too!" IT repeated again. IT kept repeating "you'll float too" in a tantalizing manner.
Stan's heart began to race. Not now. Not today. IT only roamed in Derry. Right?
"Come back home, Stanley." the clown's face appeared on the screen. "Or your friends will all float down here with me, Georgie, Betty, and everyone else!" IT said this before smiling one of its untrustworthy smiles. IT let out a laugh, then the TV shut off.
Will turned towards Stan, a look of pure terror on his face, "Was...was that the clown in the sewers?" he asked.
Stan only nodded. He was worried. IT had threatened him with the death of his friends. He had to go back. But he made a friend in this new town. One that understood all the Upside Down and shadow monster stuff. He had leads on where his sister was. And he didn't know how to get back to Derry.
"What the hell was that?" Jonathan finally asked, breaking the silence.
"Nothing." Stan shook off the fear that had crept into him.
