In Breath of the Wild Gannon's horse appears in Taobab Grasslands that is a little west of lake Hylia. He's really easy but you must come prepared with food that gives you extra stamina. I was stupid and forgot which button was to soothe the horse so I got bucked off many times.
Don't be me and forget the buttons. To soothe you press 'L'. That's on the Wii U. I don't know about the Nintendo thingy.
