She served herself a little of the rice before putting the the kidney sauce just her favourite and then poured some water in her cup before finally turning to see her fiance.
And her heart skipped a bit.

Salim was in his room checking a project on his laptop when his father sent for him. He wondered why his father had sent for him at that time of the night, his father never sends for him after isha unless he wants to discuss something very serious and important.
"Tell him I'm coming," he said to laraba their maid. He shutdown his laptop and kept it on his bed before standing up to go.
"Assalamu alaikum"he greeted entering his father's room.
"Wa alaikumus salam" baba answered. He made his way to where baba was seated and sat on the floor opposite him.
"Salamu Alaikum"Ummiey said entering the room.
"Wa'alaikumus salam" they answered in unison. Salim smiled at his mother as she made her way to sit on the sofa near him.There was a certain emotion in her eyes that he couldn't read. There was guilt, love and anger mixed together.
Daddy cleared his throat before he started to speak.
"Salim"His father called.
"Na'am Baba" He answered eager to hear what the meeting is all about. His father never calls his mother when they want to talk except it's something really serious and now he even sent for him after isha prayer so the topic is definitely serious.
"I've chosen a wife for you and your wedding would be in ten months time they are coming for a dinner tomorrow so you should behave"He said his voice full of authority.
Innahlillahi wa inna ilaihirajiun his worst fear has happened. His Sakina would be separated from him forever. He even thought of telling Baba about them today but he was busy with work so he decided on informing him tomorrow and now he has lost her. Baba had already chosen him a wife or maybe she and her family made the proposal and because his Baba is generous he gladly accepted he thought. He hated her rightthere for separating him from his Sakina. They've already started planning there wedding with her and with the blink of an eye some random and stupid selfish girl thrashed it, she had destroyed his life by separating him from his Sakina.
"M....m..mar..riage kuma Baba?"
"Yes marriage and you have no say in it whether you like it or not".
So he was called here to be told about how he is going to die by snatching his love and giving him some girl. She all cursed this and is going to pay for her mistakes.
"But Baba I have a girl already" He tried harder to change his father's mind but it all went in vain.
"Then you should part ways with her, tell her your father has chosen a girl for you and your wedding day had already been fixed" He coughed before continuing. "Tell her that she might have someone even better than you, that you weren't meant to be. You can now go you're dismissed" He said in such a manner that Salim couldn't talk again but instead stood up to leave as he was ordered.

He tossed and turned but he couldn't sleep, he only sees Sakina's face in his eyes, he couldn't believe that they're not getting marriage. He doesn't want to break her heart but he has to because of a random girl.
