Chapter 2

We arrive at the house just as the thunder started.

"Wow this place is huge" Brandon shouts and runs upstairs.
I was the last one to enter the house and a shiver went through my spine. This place was slightly creepy. The floor had carpets that looked like it used to be white but now it was a dark grey colour. The stairs were made from wood but were painted a shade of black. The doors were cracked and looked like they were about to fall off.

I shut the door as a spider ran across the floor making me jump. I quickly stood on it then dragged my bag,with most of my clothes in, upstairs to my room.

My room was completely empty except from a old wardrobe and a pair of black converse that sat in the corner of the room.

"Guess someone left a pair of shoes" I sigh and move them into the wardrobe and I  throw my bag into the corner of the room. I get changed out of my jeans and jumper and put on joggers and a t shirt, along with a white jumper because the house was freezing.

"Jordyn" Brandon opens my bedroom door.

"Yeah" I say turning to look him.

"Dad wants you to go downstairs and bring up your air mattress" He says and closes the door.

We had to sleep on air mattresses for tonight because our furniture doesnt get here until tommorw. I walk down the stairs, everyone I stand on creaked. As I got to the bottom Dad gives me the air mattress and I drag it up stairs and put it in the corner of my room.
I pull out my blanket from my bag and lie down on my bed. I was stareing into the darkness when a flash of lightning lit up my room making me jump. A few seconds later another flash of lightning lit up my room but this time I saw a shadow in the corner. I sat up to see if it was just a trick of the light but I could still see the outline of a person. I shrug it off and lie back down.

"It's probably my imagination" I say to my self, and go to sleep.

I woke up to my alarm the winter sun shining through my window. I roll off the mattress and fall onto a pair of shoes.

"I didn't leave my shoes here" I take the shoes from underneath me only to find it was the black converse that I had put in my wardrobe.
"Brandon must have done it" I sigh and walk out of my room.
I walk downstairs to see everyone eating some cereal.

"Morning guys" I walk through to the kitchen and made my self some cereal.

"Who's exited to start school today" Mum says placing her empty bowl into the sink.

"Me"Brandon shouts running through the kitchen in his batman pajamas. "I'm going to make loads of new friends"

"Not me" I sigh. I find it hard to speak to people because I'm so shy.

"Jordyn you will be fine, you will have all the boys and girls fighting to be your friend" Dad walks in doing up his tie.
I shrug my shoulders and begin to eat my cereal, when I remembered about the shoes this morning.

"Oh Brandon,did you go into my room and take some black converse out of my wardrobe"I question.

"No, I didn't" He says. "I dont like your room anyway, it scares me"

"Why" I finnished eating and went upstairs with Brandon to get ready for school.

"When I went upstairs yesterday I went into your room and there was a boy in there" He says quietly like it was a secret. "When I asked who he was he looked at me and then dissappered"

"Oh well I'll tell the boy that it's my room now" I say. I knew Brandon had a wild imagination.
He smiles and goes into his room to get dressed. I open my door to see my mattress had moved so it was leaning against the wall.

"Funny, joke Brandon pretending like there was a boy in my room yesterday and now pretending like he is moving my stuff, funny" I shout through the house.

"I didnt do anything"He comes into my room with a black hoodie on, and blue jeans. "The boy must have done it"
I sigh and shut my door on him. I got dressed into a white hoodie and black jeans then I put my white converse on.

"Come on kids it time to go"Dad yells.

"Coming" I yell back brushing out my long brown hair. Then I run down stairs and grab my school bag and go to the car.
