The shadow starts to dissappear around Grayson but then the front door opens and he vanishes.
"Jordyn we are home" Mum calls and she walks into the living room with Brandon.
"Hey" I say.
"What you doing" Brandon asks jumping on the couch beside me
"Uh nothing just about to watch some TV" i say switching it back on.
"How was school" Mum calls from the kitchen.
"Boring. Except i found out who lived in the house and what happened here" i call back excitedly
"Wait what?!" Mum walks back with a slight worried look. "How did you find out"
"Some girl in my class told me, i don't understand why you didn't want me to know"I reply.
"Brandon will you go and get changed please" Mum says and Brandon runs upstairs to his room.
"We didn't want you to be scared of the house and just feel safe" Mum explains. "Just please don't tell your brother"
"I won't" I sigh
"Anyway changing the subject your bed came this morning, so I just put it in the corner. We can move it later if you want" Mum says.
"Oh I know I saw it, and it's fine where it is" I get up off the couch and walk upstairs. I wanted to see if I could talk to Grayson again and see him not as a shadow.
I slowly open my bedroom door hoping that Grayson was there but unfortunately he wasn't. I sat on my bed and stared at the ceiling. I could hear Brandon playing on his Xbox next door.
I look at my phone and sigh. My friends from back home said they would text me but they obviously have forgotten about me already.
"Sucks to be forgotten about" I hear a voice making me jump. I look up from my phone to see Grayson, well shadow version.
"You scared me" I sigh and sit up properly in bed. "Can you show me you now"
With out replying Grayson's shadow vanishes and standing next to my bed is a boy. He had brown hair that was to one side and he had perfect brown eyes that you could get lost in. He had a sharp jaw line and muscles. The only thing was he didn't look human. He had a slight glow around his body and he was slightly translucent.
"Wait can you actually see me" Grayson says out of the blue.
"Y-Yeah" I stutter.
"No one can ever see me" He continues.
"But my brother saw you yesterday"I reply
"That was just my shadow not me" Grayson sits down on my bed. I look at him and think how lonely he must have felt the last 6 months.
"Your eyes are amazing" I say outloud and the quickly cover my face realizing what I just said."Thank you"Grayson laughs embarrassed.
Even his laugh is amazing. I thought to my self making sure I didn't say it out loud this time.
"So tell me one thing about you" Grayson says after a moment of silence. "Like maybe your name"
"Oh sorry, My names Jordyn" Ì put my hand out for him to shake.
"Jordyn its 2018 who shakes hands anymore" Grayson smiles but still shakes my hand. His hands were cold but still felt real. If I had no idea he was a ghost I would have thought he had kept his hands in a block of ice for hours.
"Tell me one thing about you" I return his question.
"Well I like skateboarding, well I did until you know, i died" He sighs sadly.
"Jordyn" Brandon bursts into my room and Grayson vanishes again.
"Have you ever heard of knocking" I say annoyed. Brandon looks around my room and his face goes pale.
"J-Jordyn t-the boy is b-behind you" He stuttered terrifide. I turn around and I didn't see anything behind me.
"You're just imagining things" I get up from my bed and I hear Grayson's faint laugh.
"I swear he was behind you, well it was more like a shadow" Brandon says
"How do you know it's a boy then" I continued to act clueless.
"Because the shadow doesn't have long hair"
"Okay anyway what do you want" I try to change the subject.
"Mum said tea is ready"
"I will be down in a sec" Brandon then leaves and Grayson appears again still laughing.
"T-The look on h-his face was priceless" Grayson laughs.
"You can't scare him like that" I gently shove his chest playfully.
"Come on it was just a bit of fun besides he can't see me even if I wanted him to"
"Why" I ask curious.
"Jordyn" Mum shouts "your dinners getting cold"
"I will tell you another time" Grayson smiles and then I leave my room.
