#9: Restarting a Life with You

The morning light shone on the beautiful bungalow as its owner stood in the kitchen humming to a song while cooking breakfast.

It had been a good number of months when you last cooked your own meal perhaps a complete year.
Whatever, there wasn't even an event that would make you stay up at night and make you worry about something...

Absentmindedly you continued singing when you heard the kitchen door creak open behind you.

You turned back to see a familiar redhead.

"Tala? Never knew you to be a morning man." Smiling brightly you shoved aside a strand of stray (hair color) hair.

"I'm sorry did I disturb you?" You waved your hand airily.

"Never mind." You motioned him to a chair before resuming tour conversation further.

"So, did you want something Tala?" You wondered what could he need this early.

"Uh... No. I just wanted to talk to you." He said not looking at you while he sat down on the chair.

"Sure... What is it?" Putting the food in the microwave you sat by him.

"...___... I just... I wanted to say that..." It was the first time in your life you saw Tala fumbling like that.

"Is something troubling you, Tala?" You kept your hand on his and you could feel him tremble.

"I...if I did anything objectionable back then...I hope you forgive me..."
You almost let out a laugh. He was worrying about you all night?

"You were nothing but a sweetheart then, just like you are." You assured him.
He of course didn't play any part in your disappearance. On the contrary he was your support when you fought with Johnny and the wounds of the fight with Hilary and Kai were still fresh.

"Hmm... Uh... I wasn't a 'sweetheart' ___!" He pouted to which you just smiled and instead booked his nose.

"You... You little brat." He faked a stern look to which you just giggled and pretended a hurt look on your face.

"I guess I'll have to leave again..." Before you could do finish you were immediately hugged tightly.

"You'll not leave anywhere...you were enough trouble to find." The falter in his voice and his heaving chest was enough to show that he was really afraid.

"C'mon, I'm not going anywhere." You massaged his back as his grip loosened.

"Well...I'm uh...sorry for the sudden hug, I'll just get going now. I have gotta be in bed before someone wakes up to find me gone." Tiptoeing out Tala took his leave. You stared his retreating back and felt the warmth that radiated from your body.
Why was Tala behaving like this? Did he....... Like you?

You put the wonderful breakfast on the table before going back to your room to change and be presentable for the breakfast.

You were a little surprised when you found the door of your room open.

Giving you a strange look Johnny motioned you to the bed. You could feel something wrong but you sat by him on the bed.
