*4 Years Later*
So the band broke up. Well, first, it was a hiatus but then we all just decided it'd be best to just break up. It happened last year. I moved back home to Seattle, the others stayed in Scranton. Angelo and I weren't on speaking terms anymore. I didn't talk to Chris or Balz anymore, either. Ryan and I spoke everyday, then it turned into every other day, then every other week, now it was only once a month.
You're probably wondering what happened.
Well, Angelo got a girlfriend and I didn't like her to begin with because she was a big time whore. She liked me though, and I told Angelo that. Well anyways, one night, while Ange and Chris were out getting wings, the whore came over and I was drinking, and she was drinking and we ended up going to my room and fucking.
I really should have locked my door because Angelo walked in on us and we got into a fight. He kicked me out, so I ended up staying with Balz for a while.
I really started missing Bree over time. I hadn't spoken to her since that night on the phone. I know she tried getting a hold of me because the guys would tell me that she would call them, trying to get my new number.
I was now standing in front of her house, deciding on whether or not I should go knock on the door. I put out my cigarette and walked up to the door, knocking.
I heard shuffling and then the door opened and I looked down at a little girl who couldn't be more then four years old. She stared up at me, blinking.
"Mommy! There's some girl at the door!" she called.
"Lucy, what have I told you about answering the.." Bree said and stopped when she saw me.
Lucy, who was obviously Bree's daughter, looked from Bree to me. "Mommy, what's wrong?" she asked.
"Nothing sweetie. Go check on your sister." Bree told her.
Lucy looked at me once more and then ran off.
Bree stared at me before stepping outside, closing the door slightly.
"What do you want?" she asked.
"I came to see you." I said.
"I can see that." she mumbled.
I stared at her. She was different. She didn't have long black and blonde hair anymore, it was now shoulder length and medium brown. She wore less makeup, took out all her piercings, and she didn't dress the same anymore either.
She was wearing a pair of black slacks and a nice plaid shirt. Had put on a bit of weight, obviously from the babies she had. But she still looked as gorgeous as ever.
"Ricky, stop staring." she said.
"Sorry." I said, looking away.
"I heard about your band breaking up." she said.
"Yeah."
"When did you move back?"
"Last year."
"And you waited until now to see me?"
"Yeah."
Bree was about to say something when the door opened and a guy, who was clearly her daughters' father, walked out, looking me over.
"What's going on?" he asked.
"Brett, this is my friend Ricky, the one I told you about that was in that band."
"Oh, right! Nice to meet you." Brett said, holding his hand out.
I shook it. "You too."
"You wanna come in for a drink?"
"No, I just wanted to see if Bree still lived here." I said.
"Well, don't be a stranger." he said, giving Bree a kiss on the cheek and then going back inside.
"You're married to that?" I asked.
"Not married. We haven't arranged a wedding yet." she said.
"Oh, well, I see you've been busy." I said.
"Ricky, don't start. Look, I'll talk to you later."
"Yeah, well, congratulations on having kids or whatever." I mumbled and walked off.
Bree didn't say anything and when I looked back, she was already back in her house.
--
I didn't talk to her again for a while. It was probably best that I didn't. It really hurt me that she had moved on. I guess I kind of deserved it though, I did push her out of my life, not the other way around.
I was sitting at Starbuck's, doing some writing when my phone rang. I looked at it, seeing Chris' number.
This was a shocker.
"Hello?" I asked, answering it.
"Where are you?" it was Ryan.
"You know where I am. Why are you on Chris' phone?"
"You need to get to Scranton as soon as possible."
"Ryan, what's wrong?" I asked, I could tell something was wrong and I could hear other voices in the background.
I could hear Balz yelling and Chris was trying to calm him down.
"Angelo was in a car accident...you need to get here. Ricky, I'm not joking. Leave, right the fuck now." Ryan said.
I'm pretty sure I didn't even hang up the phone before running out of Starbuck's and to the train station as fast as I possibly could.
