The final call told me there was no turning back. This was it my start for a new life, a new adventure. This it what I have been craving for, something new something exciting. As I gathered my belongings I looked, watching, almost spying at the people around me. They all had somewhere to be, life's to lead, a family to go to. I chuckled at the thought, not me. I was on my own now, like a wolf looking for a new pack to join. I had made this choice to go out by my self leave the ones that mean the most to me behind and to be honest I hold no feeling of regret. If this is what makes me happy then there should be no one there to hold me back. The gates came in to view, the gates that will soon open up, open up welcoming me to my new life my unplanned future. I couldn't help the grin that settled on my face. This is what I wanted and I couldn't wait.

The 9 hour long flight hadn't killed me like I thought it would. If it wasn't the flight it would be the kicking kids that I got stuck infront or the man in his 50's falling asleep before we even took off loud snores leaving his droopy mouth. But it seems none of that had got to me, I was to excited too let it. I fell asleep dreaming of all the what ifs and new possibilities.

The orders of the flight attendants is what woke me from my peaceful slumber, it seems as if I wasn't the only one who had been brought out of dreamland as the ageing man next to me jolted suddenly a panicked look laced in his tired eyes as he looked around searching for something, soon realising and rembering his surroundings as time caught up with his fatigued state. He caught me looking, turning round to look me right in the eye before he gruffly said "It's rude to stare sweetheart" turning away quickly I stuttered out a small "sorry" trying to focus my attention on the vibrant city coming in to view below. I heard a low chuckle from beside me as the voice soon came to match "Only playing with ya, I'm Rupert, Rupert Howard, business man, entrepreneur and cafe owner, but we all know that business man sounds more mainly aye"

I looked back at the man next to me noticing how his hair was slightly colouring at the sides, his stomach sticking out slightly as his body seemed to swallow the small airplane seat. His hair looked greasy, his skin rather tanned looking as though he had just come back from holiday. I noticed how his thick Boston accent had shone through as he was speaking sounding rough compared to my British one. I soon found a hand extended waiting for me to shake.

As I put my hand in his I smiled a little at the funny looking man as I said "Lillah I'm Lillah Jones" his lips turned upwards as he said "Ah so your from the island with a queen huh?" Realising he ment England I replied with a simple nod as he started laughing, he noticed my confused expression and looked at me with an amused smile.

"Don't worry" he started shaking his head as he carried on "so what you doing here on your way to the big apple huh? On your own you can't be much older that 16?" I sighed as I looked down at my fingers lacing them together as I looked back up at Rupert and said "Adventure" he raised an eyebrow waiting for me to carry on "I start college next week, and coming out here on my own seemed like a good idea"

I decided to leave out a few minor details it's in the past now it doesn't matter anymore.

He nodded in understanding, I couldn't help but feel slightly uncomfortable, I felt small all the sudden with no space to move, I couldn't breath. Breathing in quickly I managed to calm my self down again, this always happened when ever I had to talk about it.

Just push it back Lillah, push it back away from the surface you're here to forget rember. You are doing it for yourself no one else. You are your own person you do matter.

"Thats exciting a youngen like you making a new start good on ya" Rupert spoke up complelty oblivious to the real reason I was out here, I wasn't completely lying college was one of the reasons I made the big move.

Not having the courage to muster up any words to reply I simply nodded earning a sigh from the ageing man beside me.

"So what's the college your going to?" His gruff voice asked.

"St Babras, the college for-"

"Performing Arts I know, my son goes there it's close to my cafe actually" a small smile pulling at his lips as distant memories replayed in his mind.

"Well I guess you will be needing this" he said as he handed me a crinkled card with the words 'NEW YORKS FINEST' written on the top in thick font.

"It's my business card give it a call if your ever in need of a job, this city may be big but the flashing green lights are easy to find, pop in some time you can tell me how this adventure of yours is going"

Shoving the card in my pocket I thanked him as the conversation between us ended, both of us getting ready to land.
