Thick brick walls surrounded me caging me in as I walked round in a circle my head tilted back in amazement, arms out wide cutting through the air. Glinting glass let the sun light in shining down on the polished marble floors. This was the place I've been dreaming off for months, where all my adventures unknown to me would begin.

Deciding I would draw attention to myself if I dawdled round any longer, I quickly grabbed my suitcase pulling it behind me as I made my way over to the oak desk set in the middle of the entrance.

Black rimmed glasses where placed over a pair of golden brown eyes, thick brown hair rimmed the face of a lady who must of been in her mid thirties, her orange skin (obviously fake tan) almost lit up the room, she seem set on completing a task her tiny fingers typing away on the keyboard in front of her, the closer I got the more clear her features became. She seemed to be wearing a name tag. Alice it read, if I think about it she looked like an Alice. How she had a small bottom nose, with other tiny features. She sucked in a sharp breath her forehead slightly furrowing as her eyes moved from left to right giving me the impression she was reading. Tapping at the desk as she did so. Her tapping came to a stop as her expression quickly changed, a light smile dancing on her glossed lips.

Reaching the desk, my feet came to a halt grabbing the attention of Alice as I shuffled them a little. She cleared her throat clearly getting ready to speak, "Welcome to St Babras university, my names Alice how can I help you?" Her tone was sickly sweet,

Her words sounded kind but her eyes told a different story. She did not want to help me, I could tell, heck I bet she didn't even want to be here. But it's her job so I guess she didn't really have a choice.

Keeping my suitcase close I reached in to my jacket pocket pulling out my application, trying to flatten it a little with my hands as the corners where slightly turned up, I quickly passed it to the lady on the other side of the desk watching as a fake smile pulled at her lips.

"Ah Lillah Jones yes?"

I quickly nodded in reply, as I looked down at my fumbling hands. Speaking to new people never was one of my strong points.

"St Babras is lucky to have you, we are glad you could join us and hope to be of assistance to you the years you are with us" she quickly stood up going to a file behind her. Turning back round she held a small silver key in her manicured hand.

"This is the key to your dorm, do not lose it as this is the only one you will be getting" she said firmly a hint of afority mixed with her tone.

Handing me the key I quickly pushed in to my pocket thinking it would be safe there.

"Your room is number 662 and you are sharing it with a Miss Lacey Maria" she paused.

"This is the map of the three main buildings of the school it's not to hard to follow nothing to complicated" she continued, a sarcastic smile falling upon her lips as she shoved the map in my hands.

I nodded again in understanding, as I tried to smile a little up at her, it came out as more of a grimace but she didn't seem to care.

"Now before I let you go is there anything else I can assist you with?" She questioned.

Looking at me she realised I was done so before I got to say anything she quickly replied with a bored sounding "No? Ok then I hope you find everything you need here and settle in quickly"

That was that as without even giving me a second glance she had her head stuck back in the computer screen complelty ignoring the fact that I was still standing infront of her.

Right I thought, no more use bothering Alice.

My suitcase dragged against the polished floor, the old wheels squeaking against it every few seconds. As people or should I say students passed me I tried shutting my mind off, don't let anyone in Lillah it will only cause you to panic. No more overloads that's what you promised. Agreeing with the voice inside my head, I kept my eyes focused on the floor, no more voices. One is already enough.

Looking up I tried to focus on the numbers of the dorm rooms. Two walls beside me full to the brim with doors, one after the other. I'd walked past 659 of them to be exact. Walking a few steps further I found that I was standing outside my new 'home'.

The door was wooden, aswell as the detailing of it being gold. A shiny number of 662 was hammered to the middle of the door, golden hinges connecting it the white wall. As my eyes narrowed I could make out muggy finger prints on the once again golden handle.

I sucked in a deep breath as I grabbed my key out of my pocket my hand shaking slightly as I did so. Putting it in to the lock I turned it as I pulled down on the handle unlocking the door pushing it open.

I was greeted with a smell of sweet perfume invading my senses, my eyes travelled round the large room, two single beds where placed next to each other only a bedside table breaking them apart. On the opposite end of the room was a large window looking out on to the the campus. The interior was simple and clean, not leaving much to the imagination. I noticed how the bed closest to me was slightly messer than the one next to it, giving me the impression that some one had already gotten dibs.

By the bed was a pair of white converse, however they weren't really white anymore, mud was splashed up the side of them. The laces looked slightly worn out fraying a bit at the ends. A bag was placed on the bed items falling out of it. I noticed how a few contents of the bag had made there way to the floor, sighing I walked over to pick them up.

"Sorry about that I swear I'm always knocking things over" snapping my head up my eyes met a pair of light green ones. The girl standing infront of me wasn't any older that 17, brown curly hair falling just above her shoulders. She had a small frame, but looking at her I could see she was slightly taller than me. Her smile was genuine something I was great full for. She was sporting a floral dress, it looked cute, something only a pretty person like her could pull off. Her eyes glimared in the mid-day light. So this was Lacey.

She's nice don't worry, someone you can trust.

Shutting my eyes tightly a sucked in a deep breath. Push them away Lillah your here for a normal life.

Reopening my eyes I saw Lacey looking at me slightly confused,

"You ok? Do you need a glass of water or something?" I smiled slightly at the sweet gesture.

"No I'm ok" I replied. Her eyes almost popped out her head as she heard me speak for the first time.

"Your British" she squealed. "That's amazing, I only ever met one British person. I must have been about seven you see we went on holiday and I'm an only child so I-"

She stopped mid sentence as she recollected herself. Shaking her head slightly as she chuckled to her self she said "Sorry I do have a tendency to ramble on a little"

I smiled at the girl infront of me she was sweet. A good kind of sweet.

"I'm Lacey and I'm guessing your Lola? It is Lola right?"

"Lillah" I corrected.

"Ah sorry Lillah, I never have had the best memory" she chuckled tapping at her head.

"Well it's great to finally meet you being stuck in here on your own isn't the best thing" she trailed off. I liked the way she spoke. Funny I know, but her voice was soft and her little American accent tangled with her words.

"I like your hair" I cringed at my choice of words, like I said meeting new people was never one of my strong points.

"Thankyou I grew it myself" she replied throwing a wink at my direction.

"Need help your trunk looks heavy" Lacey said as she came closer to me offering a helping hand.
