Wednesday came pretty soon, I was dreading being alone with Cody so I planned to delay Tom and Lilly's bed time. I'm in last period right now. I know I was gonna be homeschooled but I asked if I could go back because being at home all the time was boring and funnily enough I missed this hell hole.

"Hi. I'm Marcus." I heard a voice. I lifted my head off my desk and looked to my left. I sit in the back corner. "Lauren." I flashed a smile. Marcus was a dark skinned boy with dark eyes although they had some kind of sparkle in them. His lips and jaw line were perfectly sculptured and his arms were muscular.

"I'm new here." He announced. Damn. Thanks for sitting near me! "Where did you move from?" "Florida." "Oh, wow." "So is this teacher nice?" He asked as the bell went. Mr Small walked into the room as if on cue. "If he likes you." I shrugged.

"What's that supposed to mean?" "Don't get on his bad side. Trust m-" "Miss Miller, the bell just went. You're talking in my time now." Mr Small scolded. I gave a nod at Marcus. "See." I said before looking at the tall, slim man. "I was talking to the new kid." I pointed to Marcus. "He's just moved here from Florida." I informed.

"I know this." "Well then don't scold me for being kind." I rolled my eyes and opened my notebook. "Welcome, Marcus." Mr Small acknowledged. Marcus nodded. "Let's get started guys!" Mr Small started the lesson. I sighed and started to draw in my notebook. "Shouldn't you be writing down the notes?" Marcus whispered to me.

"Marcus, Marcus, Marcus." I cooed. "What?" "So innocent. It's cute." I scrunched my nose. "So you're one of those girls." He laughed to himself. "Huh?" I looked over. "I never pictured you to be so self-confident. More shy in my mind." "What can I say? I'm full of surprises." I winked.

"Can I have your number?" "Sure." I got my phone out my pocket. "Put that away." Mr Small ordered. "Do you want my number too?" I asked. "I don't find you funny, Miss Miller." "I have a first name." I scoffed and went back to paying Marcus my attention. "Do you want a detention?" He pulled my attention back. "Not really, no. But who does?" I shrugged.

After school I had to wait for Paul. He had practice. He's a jock. "What's up, good looking?" I heard Marcus. "Hey." I smiled. "What are you doing up here?" "Waiting for Paul." "Boyfriend?" "Nope." I shook my head. Marcus sat in the seat next to me. "What are you doing here?" "Dad isn't picking me up until later." "Oh right."

"So do you have a boyfriend." "I don't want one." "Why not?" "My last relationship ended badly." "Don't you still see Cody?" "It worries me that a guy your age knows this much about two young celebrities." "My little sister is a big fan." "Of Cody?" "Mainly you." "Aw!" I smiled.

"It's not cute. She's always listening to your music and singing badly along with it and then she tries to dance the way you do." "I think that's cute." "Not when your eight-year-old sister dances the way a sixteen-year-old does." I giggled at that statement. "My little sister can dance that way. She's seven." "I bet she's a mini you." "Some would agree."

His phone went off, Marcus looked at it and then back to me. "I'll catch you tomorrow. Nice hanging with you." "You too." I smiled as he walked away. Paul finished practice after a while and dropped me home. "Thank you. See you tomorrow." I waved. "Bye!"

"Lauren!" Lilly ran to me. I hugged her and then started walking to my room. "Cody's in the living room." "That's nice." "He picked me up from school." "And he's looking after you all night too." "Is he?!" "Didn't he tell you?" "I didn't believe him." She giggled.

"A new girl started school today. Her name's Laura and she knew my name without me needing to tell her." She said while following me back downstairs. "Wow!" I pretended to be interested. "She told me that she loves you but I said she wasn't allowed to love you because you're my sister and I don't share." I laughed at her.
