So today's Friday again. I haven't heard from Cody since our argument but I wasn't excpecting to so I'm not fazed. I'm sat in last period with my head on the desk, who doesn't do that in class? "Lauren, have you taken down the notes?" Sir asked me. I slided my notebook towards Jack. "Do it yourself." He pushed it back.
I rolled my eyes and lifted my head of the desk. "Do it yourself." I mimicked and opened the notebook. I started copying from the board. When the bell went we were dismissed. I went to my locker and bumped into Marcus. "You going to that party tonight, pretty?" He peered around the side of my locker.
"No I'm not." "Why not?" "I have a life." I closed the locker and started walking away. "Do you need someone to walk you home again?" He followed me. "Sure." I shrugged. "You don't have a lift?" "Everyone's too busy to give me a lift." I sighed. "I'm not." I looked at him. "I just don't have a car or a liscence." I laughed at him, he looked at the ground with a smile.
"You're cute." I smiled at him. He looked into my eyes. "So how does a guy get to spend more time with you?" He wrapped his arms around my waist. "If he wants to keep his face pretty, he doesn't." I heard Cody from behind me. "What are you doing here?" I turned to look at him. "I didn't think you'd want to walk all the way home." "Who told you?" "Your dad called."
"I don't think she wants you here, mate." Marcus said. "I'm not your mate." Cody laughed. "Well, I don't think she wants you here." "I don't care. She's leaving with me and not with you." "You're going to drag her to your car and throw her in the trunk?" He asked.
"Don't get smart with me." "Leave her alone. Ya'll broke up three months ago, get over her." "Just because you can't get with her." "Cody!" I scolded. "Get in my car." "No. I can walk." "Get in the car." "You haven't spoken to me all week and now you want to drive me home?" "You said to call you." "When you'd stopped being stupid. But you haven't and this isn't a phone call." "Just get in the car."
"Make me." I stood my ground. "Get in that car now." He put his face near mine. "Do you really think I'm going to get scared of you?" I laughed. "I'm telling you to get in the car." "I heard you the first time." I took a few steps back. "Are you walking or not?" Marcus asked. "No, she isn't." "I didn't ask you." He glared at Cody. I took a deep breath and then released with a huge sigh. "I think I'm going to pass." I said.
"Why let him win?" He whispered. "There's more to why he's come here." I said. "I'll see you soon then?" "Yeah." I smiled. "Bye." I waved and then walked past Cody. I got into the car and kicked my shoes off before placing them on the dash. "Take your feet off the dashboard." I ignored him. "Now." "Just drive the bloody car."
"Why did you come to get me? I don't want the bullshit version. I want the truth." "Your dad called." "Did you hear what I just said?" "Yes. Your dad called." "I don't believe you." "I'm telling you the truth." He insisted. I knew there was more though.
He stopped on the drive of my house and waited for me to get out. "Are you coming in?" A spark lighted in his eyes at my question. "Do you want me to come in?" "I thought we were past these games." I said sounding bored. "Alright." He unbuckled. We both went into the house. "Seems so quiet." "That's because no one's in." "Too quiet." "Echo!" Cody laughed at me.
"So are you going to stay on the 'your dad called' lie?" I started walking upstairs. "It's not a lie. He did call." "But..?" "But I wanted to see you." "Why?" "I missed you." "Why didn't you call me then?" "Like you would of picked up." "Usually when someone asks you to call them they want to talk to you." "I'm sorry." He kicked the door closed.
"But you shouldn't have kissed him." "I didn't have to tell you." "You didn't have to do it. Do you know how much that hurt?" "Couldn't possibly imagine." I said sarcastically. "I know I've made mistakes, a few too many to be honest. But you would go mental if it was the other way around and you know you would." "That's because it's different." "How?" He sat on the window seat.
